The beast must go.......
Ok I just wanted to let you guys know that the VeilSide 8 as you know it is going to be going away......i will have a huge part out thread coming up and will be giving some stupid pricing on my goodies....I will still be staying in the mazda family because they are taking care of me when it comes to the trade in, and the new car....not every one knows the whole story so i will let it be known now
When i bought my car at Sansone Mazda (Route 1 Automall) in Avenel, NJ i bought it as a new car.....or so i thought....all my paperwork said new but it had some "demo" miles on it......i was told by them (lied to) that the car had full warantee and it dont start until i title and register the car (another lie)....well it took a while but the truth was finally let out
I was recently at an event in englishtown where my car was sitting in the heat all day.....well something shorted out that morning i guess and the center dash doesnt work......no display, no radio, no heat, no air.....so i take the car to Wayne Mazda (who are great by the way) and they were about to diagnowe it and caught the warantee issue before working on it (saving me a diagnosis fee).....they told me it was in my best interest to go to my selling dealer to get them to fix it......wayne thought it might be a clerical error that Sansone did when selling the car...it made no sense that my 4/50k warantee was up if i bought the car on 02/05.....i still thought i had 8 months left
I go over to Sansone (thieves) and discuss this with the sales manager and finance manager and they told me it was not them and Mazda RDR'd the car back in 06/04 and it was a Mazda issue and not thiers (more lies).....and then they told me the car was a demo car and should never have been sold as new....(i sure as f00k paid for a new car!).....so they said as a show of good faith they would diagnose the car and if the rep allowed it they would fix it while i was there....now i am waiting for 2 hours and my car never gets moved out of the service bay from where i left it!.....I ask the service manager (Don Way) why he did nothing and he tells me because i have a body kit and guages (that have nothing to do with the short because they arent even remotely connected).....so i asked if he was even gonna look and he said NOin a stern voice......so i ask for my keys, and then leave the dealer.......
I finally get home and call MNAO and tell them the whole story......the customer service that they have is what is keeping me in the brand to be honest with you.....they handled everything with true professionalism and are taking care of me getting a new car.....unfortunately because of the fraudulent things and lies that were told to me I can not take another chance on my 04 rx-8.....so she must go......I am not going away......I will be here because i have gained not just friends but family with allot of you......so when i part out please keep in mind the dilemma i am having.......i am very upside down on my car and need to come up with out of pocket to get a new car......please try not to lowball me on my toys.....all the NE people know what condition my stuff is in and i have plenty of good guy threads to prove that you can trust me........well there it is in a nutshell

Damn, after reading that i was speechless.....
It is def good to hear that Mazda is attempting to correct the problems that they have not cause, that def shows good moral in my book.
If klepto or any of the other NJ guys don't beat me to it i will def be online for some of your parts <------------ That didn't sound right......

check the fuses watch it be a little minor thing.. seriousyl get it checked out

you think i wouldnt have tried checking the fuses?......regardless its not the point....next thing that happens is on me.....and mazda can not change the warantee.....it is what it is

I've warned people before that the "contests" that Mazda puts out lead to a lot of false RDR's.... It's too bad that you were one of them.
A true "demo" is still a new car... it seems there was a LOT of lies told to you...

I don't see why you would screw yourself by parting out and loosing money. Go to a real dealer and get it fixed. It all just sounds like a minor electrical problem. Either you have a broken wire somewhere or a blown fuse. The center radio/ac/display area is well known for getting loose wires every once in awhile. I'm willing to bet it happens in some form on every 8 some time or another.
I'm a bit south of you, but we have similar problems with dealers. Some shops suck. (I had one screw up an oil change if you can believe that!) Other shops will treat you well and have great techs. I'm sure if you ask on the board you will find a shop that will take care of you. Even if for some reason I don't understand you do have a dead warranty, you are still better off getting it fixed and selling the car for what it is really worth.

guys just to clarify what chris said about the center console. it did actually BLOW out. the piano black piece has giant cracks in it. it doesnt look like a simple fuse or a wire coming loose. just thought i'd clarify that a bit

Man Chris, that's a terrible situation to find yourself in.
I simply cannot imagine the frustration and anger I would feel if I found out that the vehicle was sold other than the listed "new" condition. Like you, I paid a new car price and I expect a new car! Sure, a demo can have a couple thousand miles on it and still be sold as new but even then you're not going to pay a new car price...not when you can go pick one out that has under 100 miles on it.
I'm not sure of your driving situation but if you're like me and your RX8 is your daily driver, I MUST have a dependable vehicle. If my RX8 was suddenly ending up at the dealer with a mountain of issues with my warranty creeping close to expiration I might think about jumping ship as well.
I'm very very fortunate to have some of the best rotary people in the country out here in Phoenix, but honestly I would be scared to death to own my car anywhere else for fear of being left out in the cold with issues.
I'm glad you're staying in the Mazda family! Let us know what you land on!

im not selling it out as a whole.....i will part it to make my money back.....thanks all for the warm thoughts...i know that if i fixed the car (which im sure i could just by replacing the center) for cheap it wouldnt be an issue.....but what about the next time?.....or the time after that?......it is my daily and i can not afford to have down time for stupid stuff...i already began working on numbers with the dealer just in case before this happened but now it has been serious the last few days...i have gone from denial to frustration, to anger, to sadness......this car brings out lots of emotions but i have to do what is smart for me......even if i take an initial loss
