OKC Metro roll call. Who's out there?
#552
New member and first post after reading about every thread in here. Anyways just saying hi. Just got a pearl white '07 GT about 2 weeks ago. I'm from Tulsa, got a BS in Biochemistry from OU, and I now live in OKC. I'm planning on getting a Racing Beat Intake soon. I'm on the fence between Racing Beat or GReddy SP2 exhaust. Anyone recommend a good shop in Norman/Moore/OKC?
Rotary Inspired Performance 2507 N. Moore Ave Moore, OK 73160
Come on by I can take care of your 8.

well i am now in okc and i was wanting to know how are the police with loud cars. its a stock car except the air intake. its a K&N typhoon with an K&N carbon fiber filter. you can hear the car from a block away.

I have the typhon + exotic speed catback, agency power midpipe, and a boost brothers header. So you can hear me coming for a mile lol. The only place that's bad about it is Bethany, mustang/Yukon, and Edmond I believe, just don't be redlining at the cops and you'll be okay.

Welcome to OKC. What part of the city are you located in? I am in S.OKC and my shop is in Moore. Feel free to stop by.
Several of the guys (rotary) around here are going to try to have a get together later in the month. I'll try to keep everyone posted.
As for the exhaust its pretty relaxed around here compared to a lot of places. Be smart and you'll be just fine.

Hey Brad! Yes it is Hector doing the swap. He is showing me the ropes with the RE FD motor and we should be starting this next weekend. Looking at the GT35 or 40. Hector is building his motor at the same time, so I will probably want to go the same way he is. with a few change in some parts.
I just received my Rotary Works FD throttle body and intake elbow tube to match. Also looking at Ceramacoating the UIM and LIM. Hector is doing his as well, but can t decide on colors.
Going to pull everything out and shave the firewall as well as smooth out the fender wells as much as possible, then silver marble paint the entire engine bay, maybe white to give it that wow factor.
cant decide on the water cooled V mount or the air cooled. knocking it around to see which is the best setup for me, street and occassional track.
as soon as the thing is back on the road, will try to get by and see your shop.

Hector isn't ever building that motor of his. He just likes to say he is going to build it. I gave him the set of blue RE side plates for that motor that isn't getting built for his red FD.
Ask him about my old blue vert sitting in front of the shop that I dropped the 20B in for him one day down there, and that was 5 years ago at least that still doesn't run.
Basically give him hell for me. He needs it.
When you are looking for the turbo let me know I'll take care of you guys. I have a pretty good set up on Garrett products. Don't overlook the t04z as an option as well. I really like the 67mm turbos.
Air cooled v mount for the street hands down, IMO.
Send some photos of the build.
Come by anytime, I'll give you the grand tour.

Rotary Meet/BBQ Soon?
Anyone Down to meet for a BBQ before it gets too cold? maybe @ Hefner or something? I was thinking Next Saturday (the 5th) so its not Halloween weekend, and hopefully wont be super chilly. Supposed to be sunny & 65* out. (as of now). Got a few people i know with some good camera setups that will work for free food, and a friend that runs http://okstance.com/ maybe they can do a rotary snippet for us too & work for some free food lol.
Let me know what you guys think, i just wanna get together, eat, and get some nice snapshots taken!
later guys!

Rotary meet
I was thinking Stars & Stripes Park, There's Grills there i believe unless they took them out since the last time i was there. There's about 21 Parking Spots grouped in two spots about 20 ft from each other (so like 40 spots all together) so there's plenty of parking right by the picnic area (squiggly line next to parking circle in picture.
I'm thinking Saturday (the 5th) sounds good, but it depends on who all can go if everyone cant make it Saturday, but can Sunday maybe that'll work best?
Here's the pic
http://i44.tinypic.com/34zkcno.png
To get there, take Hefner parkway to 63rd - go west to Portland and then go north on Portland pretty much until it ends at the park, Follow the park around to the right (east side) and there's the spots etc.
anyone feel free to chime in and let me know what you all think - and Spread the word to see who else of your Rotary buddies would be down. Maybe we can get a nice turn out.
