Any San Diego locals up for a meet?

Just saw the thread about the San Diego locals in the RX-8 Main forum.

I see we have a few members in San Diego. I'm from Chula Vista and don't mind driving somewhere in SD for a nice meet.

If this is organized, who would want to go? I was hoping we could possibly meet some time in November. Any thoughts?

Hahaha... I havent been to San Diego for two weeks now... but will be down since I just finished school.
But I do drive on Olympic Parkway almost everyday (since I live right off it) when I am in San Diego.
If you see a white RX-8 with clear corners and GReddy SP2 exhaust, it's probably me.

Sounds like enough people are interested for a meet in San Diego!

I'm thinking any saturday before Thanksgiving (since everyone will be busy with family and stuff)
It doesn't have to be a cruise meet... it could be just a get together and eat. I'm not too familiar with any twisty roads in San Diego... anyone know any?
Oh and how far is Palomar Mountain? I love the road... but I think it's quite far.

I don't really know of any twisted roads here. I wouldn't mind meeting around that time. Just let me know the exact time and place and I will be there.

Sounds like a plan. My friend here at UCSD has an 8 also, might be able to convince him to come along as well. Just need the info.

Forget Palomar Mtn. Old 94 is much better and was just repaved about a month ago, plus it's right off Telegraph Canyon Rd so it's right down the street from cLLcLe's and my house! And good luck on the meet idea cLLcLe, I threw that one meet with raffle prizes, vendors, and free Starbucks and guess how many people rolled up from rx8 club? One! And that was me!

That's the highway right off Otay Lakes RD. right? I've been there once.
I'll have to drive on it and see how far I can go and back for proper time. Don't want to go TOO far out. ^^
Sounds really good though.

We could meet at the new Eastlake Mall right off of Olympic Parkway (on the north side, Has a huge Wal-Mart, Chick-Fil-A, Carl's Jr. etc.)
I prefer this site because it's new so not many people come here and has ample parking, unlike the other Eastlake mall right off Otay Lakes RD with the Target and Lowes that seems to always be packed.

Does anyone mind driving all the way to Chula Vista for this meet?
It takes approx 30 minutes from UCSD
Approx. 25 minutes from Convoy/Linda Vista
Approx. 35 minutes from UTC
Approx. 40 minutes from Del Mar

It should be a good meet. We could meet, cruise, then head back to the mall for a bit to eat in time for lunch!

I'm hoping we could do this on November 5th. I'll have to pamper out all the times and stuff after I go drive the highway.

I'm planning on a cruise of about an hour. Lunch would be any time between 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Who would be able to come if this was all said and done?
