Project Street Ray
Hey all,
Moon and I have collaborating on a project thats been in the works for the last couple months now. We diecided we wanted to include the RX8 Community in the project in regards to feedback and interest. I'll let Moon discuss the techinical aspects of the project including short and long term goals, and estimated specifications. Heres where it all started,,,, https://www.rx8club.com/lounge-4/twisted-metal-step-into-darkside-146701/ Moon will speak to this more...
We encourage any and all criticism and encouragement and would like to keep a continuous discussion going on the progress of the project and any sugestions in expertise that you may bring to the table, as we reach to bring this product to the general public. I am starting the post to display the concept sketches that I've been working on in the last couple weeks, these are initial concepts based on discussions between Moon and I on the visual persona we want to convey through the vehicle. In the near future these sketches will be refined into a select group of visual directions we seek to take. From there I will move forward in taking responcibility in translating the sketches into an engineering software, bringing the 3D forms to reality in bodywork... Enjoy and thanks in advance for the criticism...
First five images are in order from the latest ideas moving right to older concepts that still may hold merrit in their content....

If you run a single rotor you can rev it up to 11k making more power but thats with a 13b housing that was tested buy Cam in the past. The plan is to have the crank balanced to handle 13k but I dont want to make any assumptions till I see the tac after the motor is built and abused. Keep in mind that with a single rotor you have bearings on each side of the rotor, not 2 rotors between 2 bearings.

Yes and no, im taking alot of the things that make it not so much a daily driver and hooking it up with stuff like AC for those really hot days, completly enclosing it for the rainy days, adding a slick way of heating it up on cold days and making the doors removable for those days that you just want a convertable. Also the factor of fuel consumption is noted, the T rex gets only 32 to35 MPG out of there 1400 Kawi. So imagine stripping your car down to 1/4 or 1/5th the weight that you lug around and then split your motor in half. Im not making any claims yet but im pretty sure your gona have the best of 3 worlds. The ability to rip a viper a new a$$ hole, out corner a Lambo and the milage of a hybrid. All in a package thats affordable.

Hey Dan , we've done alot of research on the TREX and the components they use reach the sum of about $10K, with some of thier components being down right cheapo,,, we are bring superior components
But yeah think TREX with SC'd Rotary with a sleek closed fender design and more aero,,,

that's too cool. but with all those luxury accessories, you need to find some compact components. ac compressors, heater boxes, sound/heat insulations, instrument/climate control panels...the list goes on! this is a crazy challenge...i'd love to see the final stages.
this thing definately ain't gonna be cheap...

The challenges are many, we are thinking about tackling them in stages with the first production run(first 20-30) being open top roadsters then taking it to the next level with the closed cockpit version....

Well, id say 80% of that is solved. Like a vent like the old VWs had behind the rad, that takes care of the heat issue. Just look at the other thread and see whats been done and give me an estimate on how much it cost me sofar.
