St Louis area 8 owners
#2
First off...welcome to the club! Nice to see another addition to the St Louis area. As of right now, nothing is set in stone. Was there something you had in mind? I know over here on the east side of the river, all of the weekend town picnics and homecomings are starting up. That could be an idea.

Yeah i'm in, I missed the last one due to a vacation too. I've had the car 6 mo's in st louis and haven't met anyone from here yet! The weekend of the 24th should work for me. Anyone have a good central location?
#13
Anyone want to meet at Harrah's after work?
I know that bballgenius works out at riverport and i play poker like a fiend so im probably heading out there anyway.
I work out in Clayton so if anyone wanted to meet up in the galleria parking lot that would be a good spot just to say hi and maybe plan something in person. Just let me know, I'm talking to my sister in law who works in the parks dept. for the county to see if there is any place that would be good for us to meet.
How many people want to meet up at a park and bbq?

There's a "party in the park" thing going on today at shaw park. Its got tons of booze and a live band. here's the website: http://www.partiesinthepark.org/location.asp we could meet up there

There is an autocross event at gateway on sunday if you guys can make it. I'll probably be going and if its not too late, competing. Waterlogged is going to be competing as well. I suggest you all try to make it, the PDX days were fun a couple of weeks ago.
#16
Yeah, the PDX was a hoot. Unfortunately no other 8's were out there to battle that 700+ hp twin turbo Supra with me so I had to take it like a man. At least I can honestly say that he was the only car to pass me all day.

I was starting to feel like the only 8 owner in the area. Nice to see there are others. Sorry, too late of a notice to meet today after work. Would like to wash up the 8 and meet though. Sunday sounds good to me. Could someone post directions? Also, let's agree on a time. Someone please bring the digital camera so we can show how the lou does it.

My dad will be out of town, so looks like I'm off the hook for father's day. Should be at the autocross on Sunday. Here are the directions for those who don't know:

Ok, thanks Baseballgenius80 for the directions. Sunday should be fun. What time is everyone getting there? Some one who knows the track area - Where are you guys going to be? Just did not want to arrive and leave before everyone. Or arrive after everyone's gone. Is there someplace we can meet and eat, have a drink? Or is all inside? I want a chance to see everyone's 8 and put a face with the names I see online.

I will be showing up at roughly 7:30. I like to get everything ready, walk the course several times, etc. If you're wanting to drive... it's $30 for non SCCA members and $20 for members. Hopefully with this being father's day the amount of people there will be less and we'll be able to get more than three runs.
As far as where to go... Just pull in the main entrance from rt. 203 and make a left. At the gate to the drag racing parking lot you'll have to sign a waiver saying you don't hold anyone responsible in case you get dead.
I usually prep the car and/or back along the drag racing grandstands.
Bring plenty of water and something for lunch unless you want fast food, which is across the street.
I'll post more info later as I'm already late for work.

Did you end up going to Harrahs? I would like to do that, haven't played poker in a while but I have a good time doing it (when I win.) I seem to be pretty busy this summer but def. post if you're going.

Hey Myfunnycar I did not make Harrahs, too short of notice.....but any time someone wants to meet there let me know (I work 2 miles from there in Earth City). Are you making Gateway on Sunday? Thanks for the info on the track Waterlogged. Are you racing your 8? I will be grabbing breakfast at the Burger King by the truck stop around 7:00. See you guys on Sunday.

Hey Chico, if I can drag myself out of bed early enough, I'll try to meet you at Burger King around 7am if that sounds good? Sounds like we'll have a good RX8 representation at this meet. Looking forward to it! Can't wait to waste a good set of tires, woohoo!!!
