Exedy clutch/pressure plate

Does anyone have this clutch?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXEDY...QQcmdZViewItem

Any reviews on it, how much stiffer would the clutch pedal be etc... anything about this clutch would be nice, I can't seem to find anything...

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

the stock clutch was as good as ****. ( the pressure plate was not able to hold the revs at all nor could it take a couple of clutch drops. I have the Stage 1 exedy clutch and its a world of diffrence.

I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere on the board that the stock setup is made by Exedy.

what kind of mods do you have, I only ask because I know RX-8's with over 100 7000+ rpm drag launch drops on race tires that are still operating without issue on the OE clutch

How's the difference in the pedal feel? Does it kick back, is that the same one you have, from "organic" material. I'm getting mine put in tomorrow morning (if Aamco has it in stock) if not i'll just buy it from that site. My clutch is dead as ****, I can put the car in gear without acceleration and take my foot off the clutch and it won't stall out lol

I was asking eclps0 because of his comments, from what I've seen it will take a lot of abuse, not that it can't be burnt up, no organic disk will take being intentionally slipped for long ...

Appreciate the response, I'll take pics of my old clutch tomorrow - hopefully they have the exedy in stock at the shop. My car has been sitting in my driveway since yesterday

By the way, should I go with an aftermarket flywheel? I'm sort of low on cash, can the flywheel wait?

there have been several failures of the OE clutch reported that I would classify as manufacturing defects

My friend has a EVO VII with the Exedy Hyper Single clutch. It handles 6000 rpm clutch drop launches without breaking a sweat. I got to try driving it and the pedal effort doesn't feel any different from stock. I'm now looking to change out the super stiff ACT clutch my other car has for the Exedy one.

that's not the same clutch, Exedy makes a number of different types, the Hyper Single is a $950 clutch setup, $1800 with the carbon disc

i had the problem with the pressure bolts backing out creating premature wear on the clutch and its related parts. Clutch disc was worn down to its screws

I think you'll be happy with it in a stock car, yeah I meant to mention that the plate screws might of backed out on the OE clutch, I found a few undertorqued when I had the transmission out earlier in the year, that's happened to a few people

Alright, the car was towed to AAMCO at about 11AM, they just ran some diagnostics - tranny looks to be okay.

Tomorrow morning they are going to check out the clutch, which i'm about 99% sure is the problem. My new Exedy stage 1 organic clutch and pressure plate is coming in tomorrow, they might be able to have it installed by the end of the day, if not on Wednseday.

The clutch cost me $374 + 48 overnight, labor is $560 (70 x 8 hours)

This was such a tough blow on me, especially since I got the car 3 weeks ago... (used)

exedy is the OEM for mazda and ford..others two. but our OEM clutch can't hold a stick to even a stage 1 kit by any manufacturer.

Getting it towed out of AAMCO for free, found another tranny place that will do it for $350... what a steal

How does the Exedy compare to the ACT clutch?
