I havn't had an issue regarding the motor ,so as long as its maintained, you should get the durability your concerned about. You might want search and check in on some alternate motor and gear lubricants that others here are using. I myself use Royal purple , other quality lubes are also used by others . Glad to have you onboard the forum, Later............

Look at what you see on the roads. There are many old RX7s running about; some may have been rebuilt, but there are some really old ones still going strong. My ex-neighbor has a 94 RX7 that he has used as a daily driver since he bought it and has never rebuilt it. I don't know the exact mileage, but I'm guessing high 100K.
A lot of the 8's are now approaching 50K on here. I've seen some piston engines from certain US manufacturers have a lot of troubles by 50K.

I believe the 3rd gen Rx7 motor gave rotaries a bad name. If you got to 100k miles you were lucky. Many died by 85-90k. Its not at all a result of the rotary engine though. It was the twin turbos positioned in a way that they basically cooked the engine. Then combine that with an inadequate cooling system to begin with, and a very tight engine bay that restricted air flow, and you have a recipe for disaster. No other generations of rotaries suffered from such premature death. The problem is the 3rd gen was the most popular model, and is what most people associate with the rotary.

no expensive timing belt servicing as well. Just change the oil and liquids regularly. NA Renesis is actually more reliable than the twin turbos. Just what mazda tells us and what everyone with high mileage in their 8 has praised over and over again.

How many people that have experience with rotary engines did you actually discuss this with?
My FC RX-7 lasted 260+ miles with little or no maintenance.

If you put supercooled cream in your car, it will run super smooth and forever!
You can only put this special cream in rotary engines!
Otherwise, at 50001 miles, rotary engine wont rev anymore

since the rotary has way fewer moving parts its much more reliable and consequently longer lasting. Take a look at this project, where people are developing a rotary engine to an aircraft. And the certification of a new engine on an aircraft is way more stringent than for cars. There have to be time tests, engine run over a long time at 115% of redline etc and other things I dont know about.

Oh, and Niaz, redline it whenever you want. Just be aware that your running a lot of high dollar fuel through it.

It was the Leman's race. Actually, I read that the rotary was banned from this race for a long time because it was deemed unfair to reciprocating engines. The rotary was killing the competition.

PAPENBURG, Germany — Mazda's RX-8 coupe has set 40 international speed and endurance records for rotary-engine cars at a German test track.
The records were set during a 24-hour period on the 12.3-kilometer oval at the automotive proving grounds in Papenburg with two 231-horsepower Mazda RX-8s. Twenty records were set in the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Category A (special vehicles) and 20 in the FIA Category B (mass-production vehicles). The two sports cars, one in racing trim and one a standard production vehicle, covered more than 3,000 miles during the record attempt, which has been certified by the FIA.
The RX-8s averaged 132.25 mph (production) and 134.18 mph (race trim) over the 24-hour endurance trial. Both vehicles shattered a record previously held by the 700-horsepower Mazda 787B racecar, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race at an average speed of 127.46 mph in 1991.
What this means to you: Mazda has persevered with the rotary engine concept — and exercises such as this prove reliability problems are a thing of the past.
