Anyone here have the two toned interior installed?

I am looking for an Rx-8 with two toned interior, and the more options I want, the tougher it is for me to find the car. I hear on here that you can have the two toned Red and Black Interior installed later, does anyone have pics of what it looks like aftermarket?

I live in Illinois, what does it cost, how's it look and what kind of a company does the work? Do they doo the doors, and the steering wheel too or just the seats?

Anyone have pics?
Thanks, Shane

I'm not exactly sure but I think the leather seats are a factory installed option because the leather seats are different than the cloth in that they come with seat heaters and the adjustable support in the seats. I'm sure you could get someone to install the red/black 2 toned leather, but I don't think it would be the same as the factory.

I was actually looking at a Titanium Grey 2005 used with blue and black leather- was custom installed by the guy that owned it... I would assume you could go to aftermarket places and have it done, but I didn't like it personally, it felt cheap and tacky.

Have you checked Rosen in Lake Villa, they had a ton of '05 RX-8s when I drove past last week. Boucher in Racine also had quite a few last time I saw.

Mine's a winning blue with blue and black custom interior installed by previous owner.

Don't get me wrong, I loved this color blue with the black on the tit grey exterior, but it was just not very good quality work

I got a yellow/black interior. Had it done. No hard back leather seats for me. All nice soft supple leather everywhere

I'd MUCH rather fine an Rx-8 with the two toned leather already done, I've never been a big guy for aftermarket cosmetic things.
I'm south of Chicago, I dont mind driving a bit if I find the right deal.
I will check out Racine.

A big issue wit aftermarket leather, from what I hear, is the side airbags which are built in the door. I would not be confident that an aftermarket installer could do it without screwing up the connections etc.

it's cake to do, they are pre fit. you don't even touch the airbags. the plastic side piece pop off and you take the whole seat off like a pillowcase. then put the new one on and snap the side plastic back.

Lake Villa would be easier and they have about 20 of them, Lake Villa is close to Gurnee if you're not familiar and the dealership is Rosen.
