HSR Mitty Challenge-April 29th

The HSR Mitty Challenge this year spotlights Japanese sports cars. Last time I checked we all owned one of those, and I think we need to get out there and represent the Mazda marque with pride.

When:
Saturday April 29th
Where:
Road Atlanta
Cost:
$25

There will be plenty to do, including throwing a Lotus Elise and a MINI around an autocross course.

I am going to go, who else wants to go too?

I plan on making this as well. Can't pass up an opportunity to watch some 3 and 4 rotor action. Is Jim tracking them out on the track? They are also having a Mazda corral since Mazda is hosting it.

Have you guys ordered your tickets yet? On the RA site it looks like there are no advanced purchases.

Looks like it is gate admission only. That does not surprise me, since it is not likely to sell out, or run out of room.

very cool, the group is growing. We will have to set up a good meeting point the morning of, and caravan out there. Not that we don't know where it is, it just looks cool to have a line of us go down the road.

I will have event posters this week for the group. They are really cool as they feature the Racing Beat 1rst gens from the late 70's. Some of you younguns might not remember that Mazda made a neat little sports car back before some of you were born but it's true and they won a buttload of races.

It's looking like our favorite manufacturer is going to be very well represented. I hope to pick up posters tomorrow so those that are interested need to speak up via my email address. I don't check pm often enough so hit me up at the shop if you want one. (freeeeeee!!!)

FYI you can order advanced tickets and save lots of money at the Walter Mitty site. Road Atanta does not sell tickets to this event.

email sent. I may not have been but about 7 when I remember seeing my the 1st gen Rx-7, kinda like the one that lego has, but I liked it then, and almost bought one when I was in high school.

ROTORX7Holly, thanks for the heads up on the advance purchase option, I will get mine there if they are as cheap as you say.

To all of you going, are you going for Saturday, Sunday or both?

If you guys want your own space within the "Sports Cars of Japan," send me an e-mail at Bill@ClassicMotorsports.net. I'll be setting up the corral areas Thursday and will make a sign and rope off an area for you guys.

Regards,
Bill

P.S. We will be doing an all Japanese parade lap Sunday with Mazda drivers in the front.
