Wastegate signal..

This picture is in regards to one of the fixes, the wastegate signal. My vacuum hose is connected to this pipe, rather than the little pipe that hooks directly onto the turbo its self. Can anyone verify that this is a safe place for this hose, it connects directly into the wastegate. Sorry about the bad images, its really hard taking the proper picture.

you're right, i can't see much with those pics, but any place between the compressor outlet and the throttle body is fine..i assume you're not using a boost controller, so I'd plumb it after the intercooler to compensate for the pressure drop.

if you are using a controller, or plan to soon, plumb it 6-12" from the compressor outlet (tap the first charge pipe, not the compressor itself). then run the line from the boost controller pressure sensor to the VFAD nipple just below the throttle body (or actually it will T into your EMS/boost gauge/etc line that's already there, but you get the point). you do this because the pre-TB line is only used to work the wastegate, and the pressure is held back by the solenoid which is opened when the boost controller sees the set boost from the VFAD nipple.
