Help ~ DCS\TCS light won't go away
With the DCS\TCS system I've got an issue and wondering if anyone else has seen this or had any luck curing it.
The TCS light (Car with curving lines under it) will not go away. Also, I'm not able to turn the DCS off either. I've disconnected the battery cable to try and reset things... which has worked somewhat in that it allows me to turn the DCS off and the TCS light goes away. However, if I drive 15 feet or so, the TCS light comes back on and the DCS Off light goes away.
My disclaimer is that I tried to remove the DCS Off switch and replace it with a blank switch as I don't need and technically can't have for the type of SCCA racing that I do... then it all went to he!!
My two questions are:
1.) Is there a way to clear the system and start from default... basically returning all back to the way it came from the factory with all systems functioning properly with the DCS switch in place.
or, better yet
2.) Can I just remove the DCS/TCS system completely? And if so, how? It's actually slower on the track with the traction control active.
Any and all help is greatly apprecieated!!

He's as bad as Can
You can try the DSC reset which is in the manual. I don't think you can remove DSC as it's tied into many systems. Pushing the DSC button for 7+ seconds turns off everything, is that such a pain to do when on the track?

Nope....
I don't think you can remove the DCS, it's just a part of the ECU program, though some people have wired the switch so it always gets an "off" signal.
Have you tried the reset procedure in the manual? (While running, turn all the way left, then all the way right, to reset the center point) Every time you disconnect the battery you will get a TCS light.

Hmmm...
I tried what was in the manual and got to the point where I am now. I'll have try the suggestions to see if any will help... they all look good in theory though
I'm interested to see how the DCS can be turned off via the ECU? Is it something I can do or do I need someone with significant knowledge to do it?

Have you been messing around with the wheels lately? If so, you may have damaged one of the sensors. Also, if you have aftermarket wheels installed, particularly different sizes in the front and rear, that will drive the sensors crazy. The simplest solution may be a piece of black electricians tape at the appropriate location on your display or on the gauge pc board to cover up the DSC/TCS light.

My first thing to try will be the ECU resets.
I have been changing the wheels lately between the OEM's and aftermarkets. I don't mind having the light on, I just want to make sure that the DCS/TCS isn't on, therefore slowing me down. My question is, if the TCS light is on, does that mean the DCS/TCS isn't active?
