A Delorean parked next to me...

I always wanted a DeLorean. One of my goals to own one someday, but those that are in good condition are scarce and then very expensive.
I saw one a couple of months ago on the freeway behind me, closing on. It is such an unlikely low car, was way cool to see that flat front approaching.
There is also some old guy in my neighborhood who has one and I see it once in a while driving around. Sadly, the car is in a pretty bad shape though...

My best friend has one. Talk about a money pit. He has spent so much money on this car just trying to keep it going that he could have got a very nice car by now. But it's a car he loves and you do get looks when driving one.

BTW, I talk to John Delorean several times years back. In College I was a lifeguard at a health and fitness club. John Amos (Good Times) and John Delorean were regular members there. John always came to swim laps, but it took months before I ever knew who he was, yet I had small talk with him all the time. I always wanted to ask him if he had one of his cars stored away somewhere that he kept, but I never had to gonads to ask that or anything about that car company. it was all fitness, and swim talk.

I told him that didn't sound right because I know someone who has been trying to find one in fairly decent shape for awhile and hasn't been able to. I'm sure if they were available to get somewhere brand new that had never sold he would have found them and bought one by now. I have always heard how rare and hard to find they were. I was at work or I would have come out of my "area" at home and watched the show had I known it was on.
EDIT: Guess I should have kept reading. LOL The "new" rebuilt ones sound more like what I figured he was talking about as I have heard of being able to buy a kit DeLorean basically, but not the "original."
