In the next few months www.mazdaparts.com is going to be selling the first Ipod adaptor that uses the factory LCD display and is integrated with factory controls. (including the steering wheel ) It will be priced competitively with other Ipod adaptors that are currently offered that do NOT have LCD display capability

Also a new XM Direct adaptor will be released with full functionality...from what I understand there will be two seperate units but that is just speculation...I'll ask..

Awesome! I've been looking into hooking up a modded Xbox with XMBC with the AvElectronics NAV switcher, but this idea has promise. I have seen options like this (I think from Alpine) and the UI was the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Also, because other iPod integration systems (Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion) have very slow scroll times (scrolling through a list of songs) this might be a lot of hype over nothing.

Also, what's the link you found those images at? I looked on mazdaparts.com, but I couldn't find anything. Let me know.

Not to hijack, but what are you using the control it? A controller? That's the one hang up I have right now as I don't want to lug a controller (even wireless) around.

 

buy a mini controlller...dissamble it and mount what you want into the center console or ashtray lid

 

TM -- I am guessing that this will be utilizing the same port as the AuxMod and will be imitating the MD player? Sort of like the much promised Auxmod Adv? I saw that pic shows that a MD player is connected

 

Anyone know if this will work with the Mazda 3 Headunit? Also will it work with the RX8 6disc cd change head unit?!

Ok I'll bite. Why does the one pic show minus 40 degrees F? Am I missing something? That is freakin cold and not likely to be anywhere there are cars...at least not RX8s...

I second the question on compatibility with mp3 players OTHER than Ipod. I can't stand Ipods but it sucks every accesory in the world is made for it and NOTHING for my wonderful little player...
