9.5" +38 on 255s all-around?
Just wondering if this is too aggressive. I am an advocate of the non-staggered camp so I want the same setup all around.
Pondering whether 19x9.5" +38 offset wheels with 255/35/19 tires (only 0.2% off in circumference from stock size) would fit on a stock RX-8 without any fender rolling.
I know the rear should be fine, but the front is the concern. Would it rub the inside of the fenders? Would it be sticking out from the wheel well? Ideally it would be flush with the fender; any more sticking out is too much IMO.
Please post pics if you have seen this! (17", 18", 19" doesn't really matter, the topic of concern is *width*)
Of course the less-aggressive option would be to just go with 9.5" +45 or 8.5" +38, though both would give less dish...

1935 lbs. FTW!
Not sure about 19 inchers but I'm running 17X9.5 with a 44 offset and stretching a 255/40/17 Falken RT615 on it and no problems. I'm also lowered on MS springs and corner aggresively at autocross with no rubbing.

I think that is cutting it really close!
I am running 255/40/18 on 18x9.5 +42 with stock springs no problems but the front is almost sticking out of the wheel well. If you went with a +38 offset you may want either 255/30/19 or even 245/35/19 if you don't want to roll the fenders. When my rear is fully compressed I am within a few mm of the fenders.

I understand that your tire size is actually a little shorter help, so that may also be helping avoid the rubbings...

or how hard you can corner, I clear with Yoko Advan Neova AD07 265/35-18 on 18 x 9.5 @ 45mm but rubs the rear lip extension with same @ 38mm (see fender/tire relationship under full cornering G's below), this tire runs wider for it's rated size than most too

After some reading it looks like this isn't possible. +38 will be sticking WAY out of the front fender..
And even +45 looks like it won't be possible. This pic has me downright scared!
