New Orleans and Baton Rouge

ME but I live in Tampa now....so I don't count. My god-mother owned an 8 but got rid of it and gave it to her daughter cuz the dealership screwed her on repairs when she is still within her warranty. There's a specific club for 8's that used to meet somewhere on lakeshore drive. You used to be able to access the group's webpage from NOLArides.com but that site isn't up anymore.

I'm from NOLA, but I moved to Dallas at the beginning of the year after getting the house fixed. The 8 and I will be there in August. I'll be there without the 8 this coming weekend and July 4 week for a day or so before we head to Destin.

jk jk, welcome to the club. There is a pretty strong rotary community in your area. I'm sure they will pop up here.

Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie to the group and this is my first post. I have a 04 yellow 8 and live on the New Orleans Westbank. I am aware of 5 other 8's in my area, with one being slightly modified. I am aware of the strong rotary contingent in this area, but it is mostly people with 7's. One of the obvious problems for car clubs in the area, is still the aftermath of Katrina.
I have been a car nut for many years (I have the feeling that I am probably in the senior division of this group) and currently enjoy my RX-8.
I hope I have the chance to eventually meet some of you.

Is There any actual rotary/RX-8 clubs in Texas or the Shreveport area? I have been trying to read some of the older posts and there seems to be a lot of events for the RX-8 in Texas.
It would be nice to see something in the New Orleans Area, but I am afraid there will be little chance of it until the hurricane season is over. Everything is still crazy here.
BTW, thanks for your responses.

I have seen your car, there is a chance you saw someone else however. The reason being, believe it or not, there are three yellow 8's on the westbank. You can distinguish mine from the other two by the fact that I have a blue enviromental license plate on mine. I will keep an eye out for you.
For those of you interested there is a rotary club in New Orleans. They are geared towards RX-7's but their events are open to RX-8's as well. I contacted the president of the group last evening and I have been put on their contact list. For those of you in LA you may want to visit their site: http://ourworld.cs.com/_ht_a/talvendi/index.htm
