the "I don't hate 350z club"
I've seen a bunch of posts regarding Nissan's 350z and it never fails to generate replies from folks that really seem to dislike the car. IMO it is a great car but not for everyone. When I was in the market for a new car I looked at the EVO, STi, 350z, s2000 and RX-8. I drove everyone of them and thought they were all good cars (each had positives and negatives) but the RX-8 suited me better so I bought it.
In any case I just wanted to say "I don't hate the 350z". Who's with me?

I like them, as an enthusiast you have to give those cars props, I mean, we might not even have the 8 if Nissan's success with the re-release of the Z hadn't happened, we might all be on here whining about how Nissan made a sports car blah blah blah and we're stuck with nothing, or even worse, fwd) instead at least we have a car to complain about and compare it too. My main gripe with these cars is the styling, but I'd still drive one in a second and enjoy every minute of it, even with those 70's pickup looking door handles count me in, I dig them,

Good friend has the Z. I have an 8. We swap cars all the time.
The Z feels like it is attacking the road more, the RX feels more nimble. Both are great cars, almost identical around a road course. I just chose the RX cuz it was heads for RX, and tails for Z.

I'd probably be sure to excessively customize my Z if I owned one.

I second that...I dont hate the 350z, I actually like it more than the s2k(gg went 70 turned hard and flip) but I needed the 4 seater......and insurance was better off, I however hate Nissan in general because, thankyou for their lack of brains in their stealership and shittyass warranty and huge maintainance cost

Good stuff. I like everything about the Z (tho only in silver so the door handles don't scream for attention worse than orange side markers.) I like everything about the 8 better (tho I'm not delusional enough to like the torque better.)
The only thing I really don't like about the Z (mustang/s2k/etc) is the fact that they're f8cking everywhere. I swear I must see at least 5 of each every day. 8s per day - nah, 8s per week might be approaching 1.

Having the baby last year really changed up what we had. At the begining of 2006 I daily drove a '03 WRX and had a '89 Porsche 944 Turbo as my weekend warrior. My wife had a '02 Protege 5. Now we're down to two cars a '06 Element for the wife and an '06 RX-8 for me? I guess we both like those weird rear doors .
edit: My younger brother drives a '06 350Z and I think its a pretty damn good car.

I'm definately in this club. I appreciate all cars including domestics (I will really consider trading the 8 for the new camaro, I have a 69 Camaro SS so it would be nice to have both). All the cars the 8 constantly gets compared to (STI, EVO, 350, G35, etc) were inticing options when I got my car. I bought the 8 because I felt it was the car I was getting the best deal on and they are not found on every street corner. People bash other cars on this site too much, its nice seeing a thread like this for a change.

I'm in the club too. I don't love the Z, but it's an intriguing car. I would never own one though since it accomplishes its mission in a style that is different from what i use.

Well, I guess I made it sound nice from that post. Its a project car that I have had for 11 years now. I bought it for $1500 when I was 15 to fix up for myself. My father and I did a lot of work on it the first few years. We sunk in a few thousand and worked on it about 15-20 hours a week. Unfortunately, my father got seriously hurt at work and we were unable to finish it. Life became busy for me after high school and I never had time to work on it. Luckily I have been doing well for myself as of late and im in search of somebody to do a total restoration. I just opened a business and dont have time to work on it myself. With a little luck I should have it on the road in a year or two. If you want some pics I can probably dig some up, but as I said it is nothing nice at the moment (has some serious potential though).
