Not sure if this has ever been posted since this is my first post on this site, but I work at a dealership and I just happen to look at the Mazda locate dealer website and I clicked on 2009. Only a couple models popped up with the RX8 being one of them. I clicked on it, and it showed the Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and then a R Tuned trim. I googled with no luck. It showed only 3 colors Black, Velocity Red, and Aurora Blue. Has anyone heard of the R Tuned???

 

it's acutally the RX8 Type-R. R means race.

 

yeah i figured it will probably be a stripped version kind of like the evo rs and wrx tuner ready. i wonder if will have anything else in the way of power or suspension?

 

^it has a turbo and supercharger. mazda went all out on that type r u are talking about. mazda woot woot! mazda woot woot! it comes with direct exhaust injection too...

 

I haven't heard of this. Where can I find info?

so if you look at the mxconnect site and click on new then click on the box in the lower corner that takes you to pdfs for all the cars. it will have previous years and current for all models. there will be spec decks and price lists etc. when you go ther eunder current rx-8 it mentions nothing about this right? none of the 2008 info has been moved from current to previous? none of the "current" has a 2009 MY on it?

then i find it hard to believe that you saw it listed anywhere else. i have seen a couple of times before where the IT people put things up and take it down several times from the mazdausa site before it "sticks" and is official. but "r" doesnt make sense since Mazda never uses that designation.

care to grab a screen shot?

your using the dealers system for finding other cars at other dealers right? where you can see whats on order for you etc?

all ofd the "current" info is 2008. nothing mentions 2009 under rx-8

yes i work for a dealer. there is nothing on the spec deck with 2009 information yet. the R-Tuned may not be a model actually coming out, but it does list it under the locate section of mxconnect. it does not show any cars on order since you can not order 2009 models for a while. yes aurora blue is a mazda3 color, but those are the 3 it listed for the R-Tuned. i started this thread to see if anyone has heard of this model, since mazda employees always get the info last.

 

confirmed by me as of today, this kid is a troll.. there is no such thing.. i went on the directory today at the dealership that I work at.

there is nothing there about it.

where did you go? go to eMDCS. go to sales then veh locator. it doesn't matter whether you search by district or dealer, or area code. just make sure to change the 2007 to 2009 model year. click search. click car line then RX8. the Rtuned option will be there. i am looking at it as i type here. thats fine if no one believes me. i know what i see and if my camera wasn't so blurry i would show everyone. i will go back to mazdas247.com where the people are appreciative of the little inside info i can provide.

Just take a pic. Even a blurry one is fine. This sounds cool to me and I want to know more about it. But no one can verify what you say and you can't find a way to prove it.

im just like you. i want to know more also. i was bored at work one day and started playing around on our dealer locate site. i have a few pics, but they are so blurry you can't read them. i saved the frame from the site, but the it won't let me upload the file type on the forums. so i am not sure what to do. the guy who called me a troll can kiss my *** because he must not know how or where to look for this. i would email my district manager for info, but he's worthless. he actually emails me for product info and news. i will try to take some clear pictures.

 

Well I think Mazda's last model of JDM RX7 280ps one was called Spirit-R

i wasnt trying to be rude, but my family owns a mazda dealership that i am very closely involved in, and nothing has been said to me or my father by our rep.

Im skeptical of why they would list 2009 models when the 2008's just started coming in. Usually you dont start seeing new model year rx8's till late spring. So why would they have a vehicle on the locater that there is 0 press about, and no dealers can order, because theres no info on it.

But disregard anything i say, who am i to be questioning you? Ive only been in the business since i was in diapers.
