Q: What do you do when you find a local yard with a BRAND NEW 2007 Renesis, complete with tranny and all accessories?

Starting in about an hour (June 13th, 2008, 11am PDT), I will pull my still good motor and tranny out and replace them with brand new stuffs just 'cuz I can.

The "old" motor is starting to get a little "soft" (compression in the mid 7's) and I'd like to rebuild it while it is still rebuildable.
A yard in Yuma received a dealer car that was destroyed on a test drive with 47 miles on the odo. Yes - 47 miles.
Its pristine and I got the updated starter, alternator and the A/C compressor and other goodies (along with the tranny) for less than a motor alone with miles on it from any other yard.
Kinda hard to pass up.

I have about 30 hours to do the swap, but I would like to complete it in 12 to 14, so check back for interesting things that might happen, including the migration of the turbo and related components.

I intend to do the swap alone, but I'm sure I'll have visitors, so some non-swap partying might be evident over the next day.

Actually I read on this like one website that you should drive hard to break a motor in because it's better and you make more horsepower. Anyone who drives slow to break in a motor is a complete idiot and total car n3wb 4 l1fe.

No. I don't do that. I break it in the way it will be driven (which is the right way to break in a motor - slow break ins are for warranty retention, not performance).

ehhh, if i can get home in time i can set it up there to capture the stream, thats a big IF on getting home though...

i dont understand 'how' it works, i just know that 99% of all video streams i've ever come across on the web, i have some software utility that will record the stream.... depending on the data rate or something, i can even save it in format of my choice...

sad part comes now... i cant go home to set it up... i have to handle some halon fire extinguishers on the flightline for an influx of A/C this weekend...
