what was the price that everyone thought it was going to sell for? $180 sounds pretty low

firebirdude commented on this over on the metra kit thread.
I'm just posting here so we don't get 2 threads going.
Kind of pointless to have 2 threads when this thing really isn't out yet.

12Vtoolbox and another website were posted on here several pages back. It was discussed that these are pre-orders. Despite one even saying "in stock." (and this was weeks ago) Several people in this thread also claim they just talked directly to Metra a couple days ago and were told it's still a few weeks out.
I'm not going to believe it until someone has it in their hands. Sounds like Bigfoot to me....

hmmmm ??
Eric at metra told me it was out, gave me a number where i could get one near me, that guy saide he could get it for me, hmmmm. Why would i think its out, crazy , sorry guys , i guess the company telling me its out, and then a install shop telling me he can sell it to me for 249 is just a big joke. what ever . go to metra.com and call for yourself, all i know is what to people told me, the guy from the company who makes it, and the guy from the shop who sells it.

I've waited this long for it, I can wait a little longer. (I've had a stereo installed my glovebox since 2004).
I wish it was true. I'd gladly be the 1st to order it.
In fact, I hope you're right, but until someone physically has it, it's hard to believe.
Especially with several guys on the other thread talking to metra reps and shops, and all of them getting a 3-4 week time frame.
Rx8-13b posted this on the 29th. It's stuff like this that makes it hard to believe the kit is actually out.
hey guys, just got an email from metra
" Hello Ken,
We have had some unfortunate production delays with the RX8 Kit. This kit is a very detailed item and we must make sure it is correct in all aspects before releasing to the market.
With that in mind, no, the 99-7510G has not shipped yet. Our current ETA is 3-4 more weeks but we will continue to expedite our processes as much as possible "
man this feels kinda hopeless imo.....

I ordered every single one they had available and back ordered the rest of them. I am going to hold them hostage and if I do not get what I want ($1,000,000.00 and a white cat names Bigglesworth), the kits are getting melted down into a worthless pile of booey black mess.

Just confirmed with installer.com THE KIT IS SHPPING as they are manufactured. installer.com will be fulfilling orders as they are received starting next week. Which I'm sure means a while because installer.com has been taking orders for a long time.
