Dyno Results Compilation
I'm starting one since everyone keeps asking for it and nobody's stepping up to create a dyno thread. So since I'm starting this, here are the rules: <edited per dmp's suggestion>
1. Post as much detail as possible about the dyno session (i.e. Dyno machine used, Ambient temp, Altitude/location, etc.)
2. Post your results in HP/TQ format (SAE corrected if possible)
3. Post your charts if you have them.
4. Post your car's modifications.
5. If your reply does not include any of the four, please do not post. This thread is for dyno results only. No questions or comments allowed.

Here's my dyno results:
Session: Mustang Dyno, taken on February 2005, Bay Area California.
Results:
145 HP 112 TQ - stock
156 HP 116.3 TQ - CZ Stage 1.1

How about providing context by listing the modifications (if any) to the cars?

I know you said don't post any comments but I do have one and think is rather important. You are welcome to delete this after you read it.
You might want to have what gear the dyno was run in as well, as I would think anything less than 5th (1:1) ratio would make the results not as accurate.

You know what I have just noticed? (I haven't been on here too long, and haven't really looked at any dynos) At every single rpm cross over point (for intake ports and fuel injectors) there is a dip right before it. I don't know if CanZoomer or the Greddy can control it, but if so, people could program them to open the ports a little earlier to avoid three dead spots in your powerbands.

Stock except for drop in air filter (Green Filter) and straight pipe from factory cat/presilencer back. Motor was fresh mid season last year. Dyno from my new Dynapack 3000, oh yes, we will be doing some tuning this winter.
This was in fifth gear, but it's really not the gear that matters so much as the length of the "pull". This was a 12.5 second pull. The slower the pull the higher the horsepower since you aren't accelerating the drivetrain as fast. I can do basically a "brake" test, and was able to get 192 hp holding the car at 8200 rpm.

can you explain that further? Are you slowly rolling onto the gas? Backing off and holding the tach at 8200?

Neither, the Dynapack is capabable of holding the car at a set speed. I put it in "speed" mode, set the target to 8200, go to wide open throttle, and the dyno pushes back as hard as it needs to to hold at 8200. So there's no spinning up of the drivetrain to suck horsepower. It's a nice feature of the dyno designed for tuning in "real time" at a specific rpm.

Here is an independant "before and after" done yesterday on an RX-8 in Sydney, Australia.
Before = Stock
After = Hymee Catback :D
FYI:
123 kW = 165 HP
135 kW = 181 HP
Dyno runs here are typically done in a gear not to exceed 200 km/h, so we generally use 3rd gear on RX-8's.

Ok, where are these people making that much power at the wheels with a stock RX-8? I want to know. And I want to know what engine flash they have.

my chart shows two pulls, they wre the best two pulls, from two sessions.
the first was in May '05, on a Dynojet, ambient temp was around 75, in Atlanta. Mods included: Revi Intake, and a custom exhaust, with stock wheels and tires. At the time of this dyno, I was on the "M" flash, and had 30k miles on the car, on the original plugs.
the second was from last weekend, same Dynojet, ambient temp was about 45, mods added :RB Duct, new plugs, new coils, new battery, and 245/40/18 tires, so about 1% smaller than stock. Now the car has 40k miles on it, and is on the current "R" flash.

Results: Very erratic and defined loss of power after final port opening
SESSION #2: BLUE, 02/04/06
Milage: Approx. 19,000
Ambient Temp: Mid 40's
Session pull recorded: #3
Additional Mods: New spark plugs (due to flooding issue) and Green Air Filter
Results: Smooth with increased power
Note: Same session as "whenson417" and "L8APEX".
Maximum HP difference: 11.8 over first session
ASSUMPTION:
Approximately 28 HP gain at the peak due to new plugs.

As we all know, this car is gutless down low...the 'torqueless wonder' as someone on the group said. This lack-o-torque negatively affects drivability under part throttle conditions.
Do your NA mods do anything noticeable for torque?

OD, I've wondered about the coils. Sutherland said they were fine. The erratic hi end is acting up again. I thought my new plugs took care of that. I ran 4 times today. Runs 1 & 2 looked much more erratic than the one above. Run 3 was a reset of the ECU. I figured, what the heck, even after our discussion at the previous session. It proved beneficial to me as the 4th run was smoothest.
