Rotr8 Builds things from scratch
This will be a place where I will share some of my custom builds...
Just finished today,,,,
Fire extinguisher mount/cubby whole....
First we must choose an area and reverse engineer it in Solidworks,,,
Anyone guess where this spot is yet????
Now the new part,,,
About 2 hours getting all the surfaces to play together...
Now mating the two parts to check tolerances of the surfaces...
Fits right up...
Sorry for the dark images, it was dark and I needed the flash for install pics...

Custom Gurney flap/lip for GTO wing...
Finishing of the OE oil cooler ducts...
Complete Rear Diffuser for OE rear bumper...
Custom fender build...

soon to be complete... a few mods were needed to fit
Truely from scratch, nothing more than 2 part epoxie ,some hand rasp, some bondo and a sanding block and sand paper...
To finish these they will be glassed into the fender, the current outlet where the oe vent is will be welded over and a new outlet will be cut further towards the wheel well arch...
well since you asked I guess I can give up the goods on the fender project,,,

Its pretty difficult to do, You have to bring it in as a static surface. This means you have no way of build a feature history(the left column on the Solidworks screendumps) this feature tree is how youve built the part ie lofts, sweeps, boss, cuts.... Machines dont recognize surfaces in the sense of a mesh, you can build surfaces for tooling but you have to run it through several more software packages that make it a water tight solid, of which I do not possess

Custom Gurney Flap for GTO wing....
This stemed from observing the morning due and which parts were wiped away after high speed runs. After observing this many times, Idecided to do several reuns with spraying Meguires quick detailer on the wing and then going for differnt speed runs on the highway,,, What I found was that the most affected areas were the end planes of the wing. The air was wrapping around the c pillar but the air from top roof indentation wasnt reaching the wing enough to have a noticeable effect. The MS wing is the correct and tested hieght, so instead of raising the wing I am creating a Gurney flap. This will help to create a larger seperation layer above the trailing edge of the wing, allowing for an extension of the turbulent airflow at a further distance of the rear of the car...
Essentially Im creating a lip for the wing,,,,
Orange area was the area that was working very well...
Then I started to draw the area that was lacking starting from the center working outward.
Now wrapping the wing with serane wrap so not to pull the paint, the lip will be molded to the trailing edge of the wing...
Now for the build, again using Aves 2 part Epoxie....
Creating a defined edge so I can come back and know the exact width later.
After curing for 3 hrs in the sun, still green, complete cure time is 24 hrs no shrinkage.
am now on the second layer of fill and rasping right now pics later.....
