D&B Pics 7/17/04

Here are a bunch of pictures from the meet today. I'm also going to try to upload the video we took at the parking loud of the various exhausts. I don't have a digital camcorder, just a camera, so the quality isn't that great, and there is a lot of wind in the background. You should get the point though...Enjoy!

Nice turn out. I did not make it as I went to the ALMS and Mazda Star series race at Infineon this afternoon. I will be at PUR NRG's tomorrow to install my exhaust.

Probably the two most modded 8's in the Bay just happen to be yellow. This provided a great photo opportunity.

Man, when that time frame rolled around, I was out on my bicycle weaving in and out of the crowd...and sweating like a pig (no pun intended..hahahaha). I was wondering what the turnout would be like and I sure wish that I could have been there.

I think someone said 17, but I'm not sure if that was before or after PUR NRG showed up.

Great turnout!

We had a really great turnout for our second South Bay RX-8 meet, The pictures were really awesome and yes the tally was 18 cars all together. It was pretty incredible seeing RX-8 literally fille the width of the top parking structure from end to end. PURNRG's 8 was definitely a highlight at the end. It was sooo responsive, and had a deep sound...thanks for the ride man.

It was good to see new cars (and nice new people) show up, Silver was the most popular color this meet 4-5?, and we were graced with Blue! Coming from SF at that, way to go man.

Outback's huge beer bottles were quite the treat...YAY Corona!

I'll stick the next set of photos into our group site and archive it for our enjoyment.

I liked the Moostafa29(?)'s yellow painted rotor in front. I thought it tied the stock bumper to the bumper lip nicely. The next meet is not an autocross weekend so we have a better chance of showing up on time. We got there around 4:30 heading straight from the autocross event.

While it's nice to meet and greet I think the group may get to the point where that alone simply isn't enough. Has anyone considered informative mini-lectures, more detailed show-and-tell, etc?

Heya Robin,

I think it's a great idea to provide instructional information by way of lecture and hands on tutorials. The monthly meets are really about simply meeting greeting and sharing/comparing mods. I think the lecture event's should be done aside from the monthly gatherings. I would really enjoy a event like this. We could post it onto the club's (South Bay RX-8 Club) group site under events and list it on this forum as well. PM me if you'd like to work together in setting something up.

Thanks,
Clarence

Another Pix

Cool gathering. We'll have to add some meat (beside Outback) to the meetings to keep it interesting.

I was happy to see that I wasn't the only Silver 8 this time.... I was getting kind of lonely on the first meet. The pictures look great! Let's see if we can shoot for 2 rows of 8's to fill up the parking lot!
