Painted OEM Rims black

i finally had the time to ppainted my wheels today. I never saw anyone on the forum did it, so i might try out mine. A friend of mine did it on his s2k and it look pretty dope. So why not on the rx8. An inexpensive way of getting new wheels. Spray painting the rims black stop me from getting new wheels hahaa. Will post picture later on t oday when i find my digi cam.

I'm really interested in seeing this. I am thinking of having my wheels powder coated when I get my winter wheels put on. Are the wheels glossy or more of a matte finish?

Now if you can only figure out how to polish the outer rim, they'd look reeealy nice!

did you put a clear coat on afterwards? did you use high-temp paint?

hmm I'm excited for the close up shots and sunlight shots....
the flash illuminates the wheel well...nasty in there

it must be a early install or such.cause u can see the springs in the front
or maybe its the way the wheel is turned,

hmm a lot of this been did you preload the springs before your tighten the bolts? Try driving around for a little bit should help the springs settle a bit more. Very nice tho, I like

Post on the 7 club that i replied too. You have your rims striped, polished and then powdercoated. Canzoomer does it for like 100something a wheel.

It looks kind of cheesy IMO. I'd prefer black chrome.

I agree, it looks tacky.

It might look better in person though.

It would look better without the stock brakes since all that black brings out the rust.

i think its pretty original. but wwhat i wana do is possibly take our stock rims and give it a lip and maybe make it 19". obviously thats gonna require lots of custom work. but that might be pretty cool
