Rear camera / DVD and more
Remember late '03' when everyone was asking why we can't watch DVDs on the Nav? Things sure have changed. I installed the av kit with DVD and backup camera I got from Thew at MazdaParts.com and added another demension to my 8. It seamlessly switches to rear camera whenever the car is in reverse, even if you are in nav mode. The camera itself is quite small and if you're not looking for it wouldn't know it was there. Using the homelink to toggle between video modes make the whole system feel so OEM. I can even access my wireless home security system and view the remote wireless camera as I approach the house. Additionally, the Mazda OEM audio/video jack in the front console allows easy connection of game consoles, digital cameras, camcorders and audio devices.
Installation took most of a day and Matt was great help (On Saturday!) when I was stumped by the backup wire on the av switch. This is the most expensive mod I've tackled so far and while I can't compare it to my RB suspension it does signifinantly increase the fun factor of the car.
Mazdaparts.com / RX8Garage.com provided fast service and excellent support. The DIY on the forum made the installation a breeze.

Cgrx SB is 90 miles North of L.A. we are really Central Cal. but whatever.. I love to drive my 8
And as of now we have no shop space and do no installs . except our own . We are looking for space where we can do installs of all kinds of crazy stuff .. But untill then we are mostly a Parts Broker. We try to keep onhand all lthe MS JDM stuff.. and All the AV stuff.. Also most of the Basic MS USA stuff.. asaide from that its all dropped shiped. Since we buy from allmost all the major vendors we can get better prices to the publlic. ON most itmes our mark up is 10% or less.
DosDogs Grand Totla was the AV kit i sell .. Trying to get it all in one box.
AVswitcher, DVD unit and all..

The DVD player is mounted in the top of the rear pass-through and the AV switch to the back of rear seat passenger side. The PIE adapter is necessary to allow the selected AV source to play through the sound system.
