Hey Guys

Very good chance I will be able to come along with the boys.

My wife needs time on the weekend to finalise pre-sentence reports for court on Monday the 18th, which is my son Matthew's 9th birthday.

I have convinced her to have his birthday party on the 17th instead of the 16th and I will take the boys out for the day on the 16th so she can have the day at home by herself to work. (What a shifty bastard I am)

So it looks like I will hooking up the PS2 in the back seat to keep the boys occupied on the drive to Phillip Island. Is anyone else bringing their kids along?

Kal, put us down for KK as well.

Cheers
Greg

Greg,

I will be bringing my 2 offspring and we will most likely be staying the night.

Cheers

I didn't think about staying the night.

It might me best to do that then drive home Sunday morning for Matty's birthday party.

How many are staying and how many are coming back the same day?

Woohoo! I'm in!

Some further wheedling last night did the trick.

Put me down for KK Kall.

I'll have a think about accommodation. Once I know where I'm staying I'll be in touch to get directions to the meet up point, etc.

Operation Mexico is go.

Hey Julia

You should come to Melbourne more often. Look at the turnout!

Let's see if we can get to 20.

Yes Kal, you deserve credit for this as well. I was just being sarcastic.

If I get you for KK I'm getting you a "Social Function Organiser Of The Year" trophy.

It's amazing!! You guys are awesome. My 8 family...the WD is amazed at how many people are coming! Next time we will bring the 8! Maybe it could be the Annual end of year event??

Anyhow we are staying at the Coes Caravan Park...$80 per night for a cabin with ensuite! That'll do us!

Getting really excited now!

For those that stay for the Sunday I make a solemn promise to drive the car like it's stolen and give the spectators some value!

Car is getting a facelift of the engine kind and so am looking forward to getting it out on the track...

Looking forward to razzing some of the Victorians up. Last year they were too scared to get out on the track with me!!! I not so scary really....just fast and take no prisoners...

BTW the museum is really good...we did it last year and I really enjoyed it...there's also boat cruisey stuff.

There are some great places to eat...and also there is the historic PI circuit that's now roads....we drove it last year and still found some faint markers of the track etc. Lots of history over there.

I am bringing my camera to take photos, can't promise they will be any good though.

Cheers

Julia...

YOU GUYS ROCK.....Kal thanks for getting this sorted you are a gem!

Spoke to MACCAA yesterday and he's definitely coming too, so I'll have a co-driver to ease the long haul down and back.

Our plan is to leave early Friday morning and get to Melbourne hopefully by mid-late afternoon. We'll overnight in Melbourne and meet up with you guys in the morning for the cruise (although I may be open to Friday night shenanigans after I've had a rest ).

We'll come back to Melbourne on Saturday after the cruise to knock some of the travel time off the return journey to Sydney. I'm thinking of an alpine route for the return to escape the boredom of the Hume but I'll need to discuss that with my erstwhile co-pilot.

I'll let you know where we're staying as soon as I've worked that out as we'll probably need some guidance to the meet-up point (don't think my pocket Gregory's covers Melbourne! ).

Subject to the Vics extending their kind invitation, we're happy to have some company from other NSW people who are dumb enough to think this is a good idea.

Dave, i would have thought going back via the coast would have been quicker?

When you know where you are staying the night before let us know and we will organise for someone to do a drive past and get you on the way to the meet.

Cheers

You might be right. Nothing settled yet anyways. We'll have a look at it and work something out.

Thanks for the offer of a driveby ( ). Will let you know in due course.
