The [VIC] RX-8 plate.

This is not a eBay advertiser. Please do not post the link.

I have seen a recent advertisement of the Victorian RX-8 plate for $7000. I thought the plate was gone to a Mazda dealership but no it went to a private hand. The plate was gone within 15 minutes after it got on sale at Vicroad.

I ask if he could lower his price.

My question: Dear Seller, can I justify getting a $7000 plate for my $50000 (car). I cannot. Could you lower the price... say $700? Let me know. We can talk prices.

The seller response: Thanks for your enquiry,

We will pass on your comments to the owner of the plates. Please bare in mind that these plates are limited and the original cost is $2000.00 from vic roads.

We suggest you look at other plates listed on ebay with the price you have in mind.

My response: Please consider to lower beyond the original price. I will post a comment on the RX8club.com website for the owner as a reference. For your record, these are the gathering of people who love their cars.

So people, help this guy out .... who would like this plate for $7000. Or half of a turbo?

That's a very quick response from the seller, considering we've just talked about it like 15 minutes ago.

I prefer mods towards my car to the value of $7,000 rather than the plate. Even at $2,000, I would buy car mods instead

What a huge price to tell people something they can already see from the umpteen badges (and third brakelight mod ).

Just don't understand why people get in such a tizz over these vanity plates.

I still prefer something that's hard to read and/or remember.

I wouldn't pay $7-8K for plates for a Fezza, much less a Mazda.

That's a pretty damn good week's holiday or a new set of rims and rubber (for both cars ).

I'm getting a fake set for Trackdays etc. and leaving my crappy ordinary ones on for the road cause they're harder to remember

http://www.numberplate.australia.ms/ - from $60 a set delivered, bit better than $7K !!
