I used to use the 100 octane but mazda told me that the rx8 only reognises up to 98 octane so I changed back to regular optimax 98. Do you guys know if rx8 can improve performance wth the 100 octane?? I'll chage back again if so..

Plus V-Power Racing has 5% ethanol. I've tried V-Power Racing and I get better performance from BP Ultimate (98 RON) than V-Power. The difference is very slight though. Another difference is Fuel Consumption. V-Power is a bit more economical than BP but I still fill up with BP anyway (Thank You BP Card )

I found the exact same thing and now use bp ultimate or optimax 98.. Couldnt feel any gain in performance and got even worse fuel economy than usual..

The ECU "tune" we have here is based on 95RON fuel. It really is pointless going with more than this on the street.

On the contary, I want to dyno my car (tuned by KnightSports) vs normal ECU.

I want to dyno while the car has 1/8 of V Power and add 40L of V power racing and see if it makes any difference in figure.

Pretty sure it does, but why would it driving around the streets. 95 should be fine.

Matt,

Have a chat to your service manager about the 170 v 177 power issue but from what I understand, the answer is no - you should still have the 177 (if that be the true figure anyway).

Otherwise, I agree with Andrew on octane. I alternate between 95 and 98 depending on what's available and notice no difference whatsoever.
