2006 Rx8
Hi everyone.
I am very interested in purchasing a new black RX8 with leather pack.
However, I am not sure if I should wait for the 2006 RX8.
Do I wait or do I buy the 2005 model now? Please help!
Thanks
Black Rocket

Welcome to the Forum
No big differences in 2006 unless you want auto transmission, so your decision is to buy now, drive a really good deal and take the build date depreciation bath on 1 Jan 06; or to wait, pay more but have an 06 build date some time in the new year...early March I reckon is the earliest date you'll see a car with an 06 VIN.
It's such a great car to drive....holiday season cruises....only suckers like me who pre-ordered could handle waiting....you don't have to, so my advice....go forth and negotiate
I see Mazda is offering extra warranty at present. That's good, provided it is just a simple extension of the factory warranty....
If you look around this forum and on www.rx8club.com.au, you'll get some pointers on what people have paid in various locations. If you can position yourself as a cash buyer with no trade in, you have lots of power -- use it wisely and patiently

What cash price do you think I should be able to secure a black leather pack 2005 model at?

Welcome.
You should be looking at Sub 60K drive away (including some goodies - aka accessories).
I got mine for $62K drive away just over a year ago (see sig for my extras).
Unlike some members I don't automatically point new members to the search function!

I can tell you now....every day you put off buying an RX-8, is a day less driving an RX-8 before you die.
Just ask the pre-orderers and early adopters they don't regret it.
I had to wait 15 months from launch to get mine (my wife eventually gave in early
- no doubt worn down my fixation with the RX-8).
