Sweetfa - good to hear that you will be coming along, even if its only for one day.

The Flyer add has been updated with the QR code, so hopefully helpful to you guys with modern phones.

If anyone knows any work shops that might be interested in putting up the flyer, just take a copy of it and give it to people that you think might like it.
Thanks

Rotaman

I've given out the first flyer, dropped into RX7 Heaven last night and Tony was happy to put one up in his workshop.

I'm off to Taranaki for Hill climb so I will see who I can talk to on the way.

Anyone in the naki who is free this saturday, come and have a look at the Ngawhini Hill climb in Hawera, should be some excellent cars racing up the hill.
I've competed in this event a few times before, but in my RX2, its a great fun event.

Otherwise start getting your cars ready for a fun weekend away in March.

Excellent day at the hill climb, but I struggled for traction. Were just over 45 competitors and I was up in the fastest 10-15 cars. I managed to get down to a 54.03 sec time up the hill, and the faster cars were around 52sec. Next time I need better tyres.

Anyway I hope some of you have taken a copy of the flyer on the first page and have started handing them out.
I'll start looking at accommodation when I get back up home nearer the end of this coming week.

I tried both, DSC on and off, and the fastest time for me was with it off, as you said it would be. Must save some money now for some sticky tyres.

I met up with Darren and his son in the naki with another VR RX8, was good to say hello. Hopefully Darren may be able to come along on the Mystery tour. Darren use to have a FD RX7. Let some of your friends know about the tour Darren, they may be interested, we like FD's as well.

Great to see the enthusiasm in the thread, I've been trying to get info on RX8s through the site and wound up here. I'm poised to buy one, and was meaning to sell my Hi ace first but I don't think I can wait. I just had to confirm I could get the bikes on the car somehow, any ideas?? Rotoman, where are you up here?. I'm in Kerikeri. As my wife's in Canada for another 3 weeks, I won't commit to the tour ( especially when she has no idea I'm buying another car). But if you guys are as social as the MX5 gang was, I'm sure we'll catch up sometime. Cheers.

Hi Stephen, Good to hear that you are looking at buying an RX8, I would think that the way to load up bikes on your car would be either a roof rack or tow bar mount. I sure I seen someone on this site have something like that on their car.
As for where I live, I'm up north of Kaitaia -( Houhora ). I'm on my way up home tommorrow ( Weds 20th ) and may look at going pass Kerikeri, give us a call if you want me to come say hello. ph 021 409919

Xcon - good on ya for finding some other Rotor motors to come along, we look forward to seeing the conversion.

I meet up with Stephen in Kerikeri and looks like he will be an RX8 owner soon. we look forward to meeting up with you again.

Now accommodation for the Mystery tour, I need to know if you all want to have your own rooms or do you mind sharing?Obviously this will determind the cost of the overnight stay. I've had a look at available accommodation in the area we are planing to stay and places to stay are filling up fast.

As Rotaman just said, yep, I'm officially a newbie. Just picked up the black 06 manual. Pretty much bog standard and will stay that way for a while until I decide what if any mods I will do. Fun trip home and now to tell my wife. Lol.

Stephen, good to hear that you bought the RX8. Maybe if your wife is back from her overseas holiday in time, you could bring her along on the Mystery tour. Anyway hope you have fun with it.

I'm still trying to sort out the accommodation, hopefully I will have some more info soon.

At this stage it looks like my wife and I should be able to come. I think we would want our own room we don't get a night away from the kids often

Ok some more news regarding accommadation, looks like we can book a couple of batches/holiday homes for the night and prices for the overnight stay should be around $25-30 each.
This will give people the choice of having a room themselves ( for the couples ) and possibly sharing for the singles, depending on how many people we end up with.
I should be able to confirm everything in the next couple of days.

Darren, that would be great to see a couple of people come up from the naki.
I bought my daughter a Taranaki Hardcore tea shirt while I was down there.
Go the Naki.

The Accommodation is getting closer, sorry its taking so long.
I have put a deposit on one holiday house and am just waiting to confirm the second one.
If I can get the second house, it will mean we will have accommodation for around 20 people.
Once I have them both confirmed, basically its going to be first in first served.
What I mean by that is I will need people who are doing the overnight stay to pay for their night.
So at this stage its going to be $30 per person for the night, and the only thing you will have to bring with you will be a sleeping bag or some sheets, depending on what you like.
The first place I've booked will hold up to 12 people and the second one I'm still confirming will hold around 8 people.
The good thing is that the two places are on the same street and opposite each other.
Also there is plenty of off street parking.

Hope you are all looking out and telling people about the weekend.
Don't forget to take a copy of the flyer on the first page and give it out to people.
