Part of the reason for buying a new Vette is that I want to build a supercharger for it. As soon as the Rx8 SC is done I want to upscale it for V-8 size engines and the Vette is my primary market. Hymee tells me that there are alot of Ls1's and Ls2's down under. In fact he tells me there are many more then there are 8's.
That's how I see it here. If I have a universal kit for small blocks there should be a constant number of monthly sales forever. It's a bottomless pit. My freind who owns Airflow Research makes heads and I can't beleive that the sales never stop after all these years numbers keep going up. You'd think they would reach a saturation point. How many engines are left with no heads?
I realize that racers never stop buying new ones as they use them up, but street guys don't need the latest trick head every week.

It's in my car and we are changing ECU's and haven't found the right combo yet.
We are working on getting some of the parts like the intake manifold productionized. One unit does not make a production line.
We still have a couple of compressors we want to swap out.
Anyway the manifold and the gears are built by others and it will take some lead time. We still plan on being at sevenstock with the car and an engine on a stand with SC mounted. We may even take some deposits or start a list at that time.

Jeez, I know Michael is the fave whipping boy and he doesn't do himself any favours by the manner in which he expresses himself sometimes but let's read between the lines here instead of just laying into him.
Perhaps he's just read the extensive FI posts by Hymee and RP and has formed the conclusion that the solution they're working on is a better one. Whether that view is right or wrong, he's entitled to express it.
I've got a lot of time for the guys at RotorMaster/DNA, as I've said many times previously and their S/C kit deserves respect. But that doesn't mean we can't form the view that perhaps other alternatives will be better again (assuming they're ever released locally or available to import).

We needn't support every view expressed in here with a footnoted, peer reviewed thesis just to satisfy your preferences.
We can all individually decide whether to agree with something someone else has said or ask for clarification if we want to debate it, without denigrating the person who has offered it.
Even if it's just some mild bullshitting, that is not exactly unheard of when people talk cars (or other leisure pastimes) and it can be entertaining.
Michael's expressed view stands alone. He did not set out to convince anyone - he was merely saying that according to what he's read he does not think the centrifugal option is necessarily the most suitable solution. Why is that such a big deal? Why should that be evidence-based?
Your reaction is the very thing that you have criticised in other FI threads - i.e. being emotive and dismissive instead of contributing something useful.
Sorry - is this response too long for you?

Yes it is
And of course you don't need footnotes....gimme a break
No, I disagree. Of course there's a lot of 'pub talk' here, but even in a much less formal environment you should be prepared to be challenged as to the evidence on which you base an opinion, should you choose to express it openly. Otherwise, it is all ego, and nothing is contributed to the collective knowledge of the group

However, instead of the point and laugh "I can't believe you wrote that" response - which is usually just going to elicit anger and start a flame war - why not just ask him why he thinks that? Surely that is more likely to increase collective knowledge than merely inferring that someone is an idiot for daring to express an opinion?

Of course you are correct....and there's no doubt that's the approach I may have taken with someone ...'less experienced'
Michael, I apologise for inferring you are an idiot. Please enlighten us as to the basis upon which you have reached the view that the ProCharger is not the suitable for the RX-8

NOT the most suitable , IMOH based on my reading in How stuff works , and by doing my own searches on various types of Superchargers that are way more recent design than the outdated centrifugal one IMOH .

A high teck car deserves the latest up to date Turbo / Supercharger .

One that gives it power were its most needed down low especially in the case of the RX8 .
