Less than 4 weeks old, despite paranoid parking and upmost care, someone reverses into me in the car park at my son's Kindy.
Hit the passenger rear-side and bumper.
Fortunately the driver stayed, admitted fault, and is fully insured so all good from the payment side.
Recommendations for good repairers in Brisbane, North side?
I'm off to Weatheralls in Windsor on the recommendation of my dealer, and possibly Col Skipstone (sp?) for quotes.
I'm with Suncorp so I can choose my own repairer if the price is right.
I presume the bumper is a whole part replacement? Paint matching will be a pain.

No mate, that bumper is an easy repair. So is the dogleg on the rear arch. A good painter is imperative, though as a metallic the Winning Blue should be an easier colour match than the mica's like Velocity Red.
All the best, Gomez.

Kiwi we got our cars within a week of each other and i have a dent from a shopping trolley you, soft drink and more than just a little scratch!!
I hope this is the last of our run of bad luck.
More of a hassle for you though since it is covered by their insurance.

Repairs will take a week - mostly paint curing time
Turns out Weatheralls already have a Winning Blue '8 up in their paint shop. They are doubling up the paint so it should be good to go.
They are also a Suncorp Gold Repairer, so my car should be there tomorrow morning after I drop it off at the Suncorp Assessment Centre at Mooroka (sp) today. Just waiting for Budget to call with a time I can collect my hire car.
Gomez,
You're correct - bumper will stay and be polished out and only the panel work on wheel arch.
Worst part is the week without the car.
Cmac,
I feel for you mate. Trolley or door damage in a car park is absolutely the worst unless you get the 1% who are honest enough to leave a note.
Hope the damage isn't too great - can it be covered by a good detailing?
Still love my '8 just disappointed by the wrong sort of attention it seems to get.

rev it up
Sorry to hear about your woes there kiwi meat.
I am amazed at how well the bumper has stood to to the bump. The joint gap apperrs perfect(between bumper and body panel).
The repair looks simple but you will need to be diligent on making sure the finish is perfect. You dont want to see poor sanding or buffing. The best way to test this is to take the car out in bright sunshine and view from different angles. Do this at the time of delivery if possible.
Good luck

Update
e5cape - sorry to hear about the damage to your car. Especially as the other party didn't stop.
UPDATE
My car arrived at Weatherall Prestige Autobody in Windsor. Parts ordered, and work underway this afternoon.
ETA is approx Tuesday for return. Which can't come to soon enough as I have been issued a "bouncy trampoline" aka Toyota Corolla Ascent sedan with auto as my rental car.
ps made a note of my odometer. Will be interested to see what it comes back as.

oh ouch
oh ... good outcome... hmm.
That is ok then :D
It is only the body of the car. Like shoes, if you wear them, you will get stratches sooner or later.

And you were worried about a little slipping in the wet...
Changed my mind on DSC... really stands for "definitely sell children".
Anxiety should be reduced by the liberal intake of fluid from a yellow can (based on location)....about every 15 minutes until you feel a fuzzy feeling in the back of your head....hopefully carpet.
Hang in there...

Back on topic...... kiwimeat, if this place that's repairing your car has many other more expensive European cars, I'm confident they should be able to repair your car back to original (if not better) condition.

XXXX in QLD must be like fosters in the rest of the world. Everyone overseas drinks fosters as a good australian beer except australians. I'm not sure i can even remember what the can looks like since it all seems to go offshore :p

Kiwimeat, and anyone else who cares to takes my advice...
If you are not committed to wherever you said, please give John Adams a call at "Affordable Bodyworks". The name sounds cheap, but the work isn't.
Affordable Body works
Shed 3 7 Paisley Drv Lawnton 4501 (07) 3205 1264
BTW - John doesn't know me as Hymee![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I got a quote from Col Shipstone years ago for a ridiculous amount of money.
John did this paint job for me, once upon a time, in a previous life...

And the engine was pretty good as well.
