Accos!
Hey guys,
just had some snot nosed green P plater in a 1990 toyota corolla smack up my **** on my way to work yesterday. Lights turned orange and i thought id go through but i changed my mind and stopped. The next thing i hear is a screech of tyres and a bang and my car is pushed forward. We get out and the first thing he says is "why did you stop it was orange!" hmmmm damn P platers!
the usual scratches and dents. At first he was a bit argumentative but I soon fixed that! He begged me not to go through insurance because his uncle owns a smash repair shop...typical
Probably just gonna sand it out and buff it up. So im gonna make it hard for him and make him pay for it through insurance hehehehehh. Its about time they earned their moneys worth!
Serves him right for not keeping a 3 second gap whilst driving! (Thats a ticket in itself for Negligent Driving!)
Its too dark to take some piccies atm but i will do it once its light!

Sucks to hear that.
I've had some close calls like that too esp. when I think the guy in front is going to run the yellow and I drop it into 2nd and then he freakin changes his mind and I have to slam on the brakes.
Usually happens around red lights cameras. Quite the thrill. lol.

Good one.
My card can be a good dispute solver too, for different reasons. Stopped a similar attempt to shift blame when I got rear-ended once.
Mind you, it has an expensive effect if provided to tradesmen, something 'er indoors is now banned from doing.

Assessment
Just got back from the assessment centre!
The assessor just took me out and showed me the damage and said that because of the textured bit on the bottom im getting a new rear end .
Take off old rear
purchase new rear
paint and colour match
put on new rear
Its easily going to cost > $1000 to fix!
Lucky I'm not paying a cent!

Be VERY carefull with the colour match. I didnt notice the issues with mine until I saw some pictures.
One of the things I have found out recently with replica kits is its the little things that get missed. The kit I have was not to bad (the painting and fitting was another story). The thing I have found recently is things like the store tray mounting points are missing. Not a big deal driving around town, but when you are flying around tassy things go wrong
When it comes down to it, the time spent to fix the imperfections in the replicas, plus all the small things that need to be fixed like the stone tray mounting points, you end up paying the same for an original, if not more for the replica.
Cheers
Andrew

I think im just going to paint the diffuser red as well, that way I dont have to muck around with this whole colour scheme thing!

Actually, Drew, hate to break it to you but it'll be take off old rear, fix up mounting points, put old rear back, spray over existing bumper paint and they'll give it back to you. Even if they quote you for a new bumper, you won't get it.
$500 max!
Unless ... it was an assessor from the insurance company who specially came out to assess your car!
