Anyone else suffering PND?

Post Nationals Depression

It was such a fantastic lead up, and such a stunningly good weekend, I find that the return to "mundane life" is just not doing it for me!

Anyone else??

I remember reading something about a similar happening after the Sydney Olympics. Must be a NSW thing

Cheers,
Hymee.

I am still sad... staying an extra day did not help either

I still can't sleep... sometimes I wake up thinking that I have to check the tyre pressure, or has to bring the car to Canberra to fix

I have thought of killing myself you know... since the next Nats is so far away . I have no plans of hurting my car or my family though...

I am sure there is no way out of that Hymee. Even if we have a National week, it will still be not enough

Maybe I should prescribe myself with happy pill

Thanks for the diagnosis Hymee.

I think all that attended the Nats will be suffering from it, whilst those who could't make it will be suffering from PNE

I'm suffering as well.

Hey, I've got the Murcotts drive course on Monday (don't ask - took them a while to come good on this because my car was a demo and I had to ask, and ask again ). Do you think they would find it funny if I turned up with a helmet and asked for someone to lap time me???

Wonder if there will be any giveaways there...

Okay I'm going off a little premature here, but Revolver I think you and I might be sharing the odd beer real soon!

We realised how much we were missing Aus and the company over the weekend was just the "waifer thin mint" . What a hell of a great group of people!!!! (Few days with the family the final straw!!!)

Looks like ol' Mikey and the brood will be sunny Sydney bound in the new year!!!

So it's gonna be a sale in NZ and a purchase in Sydney cause I just gotta put an eight around that track!!!!! That is after buying a house blah blah blah!

(Hymee, get ready to tool me up a shiny one, cause no one goes pov. pack twice in one lifetime!)

Sincerely
Mr Mini

I've had PND big time -- especially today when I think I stopped work at about exactly the time I was having my final panic packing the car before setting off to WP. I just paused and thought "oh **** I'd love to have all that again this weekend!"

Anyway, not to be. I washed and polished the 8 -- by crikey she's running sweet -- anyone else notice that. Like a horse that loves a good gallop, then the next day comes over and nuzzles you, almost saying 'let's go, let's go" (oh, I got it baaad)

What to do? Well, us Cbr and Sydney boys can obviously skive off work one day and do the $80/day job at Wakefield. How cheap is that! (oh cripes, I can see Taka's face from here)

But how about plans for next year?!! I'm in serious need of a challenge that's do-able in the context of Wakefield (assuming that is a unanimous call for Wakefield again I keep hearing). We have to do better than that, but not necessarily too much bigger. Two days on the track -- maybe we can accommodate 60 cars, max. So, all out there, numbers will be restricted, and I expect high demand. Don't fall asleep.

There's other stuff we can do to make it better -- just some random thoughts:

Hymee -- how many customer s/c cars are you going to have at the next Nats? C'mon, what's the challenge? 5? 10? What happens if I suggest the first performance shop that promises the highest number of FI cars entered by customers gets naming rights? Let's make this interesting (oh, and if they don't make it, there is a corresponding brickbat!)

Let's get the tyre companies there, esp Bridgestone

Let's have demo cars with Konis, Teins, Whiteline and so-on

Let's get some US guests -- RP, Snap-on and co

Let's get Mazda to really put up (hmm, don't want to become too corporate though)

But a hot-tuned car from Japan -- that'd be cool

C'mon guys -- ideas, ideas, ideas....AND WE'LL MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

(am too excited to do a smilie search)

And Mikey -- great to hear of your impending return. OK for some heavy lifting in the marketing and PR game for next year, big fella??

I was suffering PND big time until I read a post last night where Timbo stated the Nats would be on again next year, that got me all excited again. Now I have read the above post I will have to take a Valium and lie down, Oh the Joy !
Two days sounds do-able with a bit of notice

We have not had time for PND as we are still returning from the Nats - Port Macquarie tonight.. But we did return to Wakefield to have lunch with Debbie and retrieve Miss 6's hand bag - she put it down do that she could give Jornaton's boys a run for their money.

The Finance Director is suffering a little bit of IWIHDTPTATN (I Wish I Had Done The Participant Thing At The Nats!)

We STILL have seen no other RX-8s on the road..

Mate, it's on me.

Bring your sister too - she's a cool chick.

Just make sure you buy on the northern beaches. I could use another local drinking buddy.

I'm all over that Timbo. Let me know when you're planning to go.

I'm off to Brazil. Will fly back just in time for the Nats. :fawk:

Just kidding - some good ideas there Timbo. Have spoken to Len - 60 might be too hard but 50 is probably doable.

I vote those who made the effort to get there this year have first option. If they don't take it up we offer their spot to others.

Would also be fun to allocate car (and pit garage) numbers according to previous best lap time.

I just checked the Nats constitution. Nowhere in there does it say the Nats has to be an annual event.

I'll see you all at Wakefield in April.

Love,

Gomez.

True, but it can also be a powerful incentive for people to pay their Nats money on time... I'm cool either way...

Hmm page 32 suggests an annual event as the words "how often?" were clearly (and cleverly) omitted from the document.. Perhaps a constitutional lawyer is needed here? Revolver any thoughts??

April!!!!! Bit soon isn't it???

Hmmmm... I was keen on July - Aug time frame...

Yes, it probably is. I just added six months to October and turned the Nats into a bi-annual event. I like the way the track and surrounding environs looked in October. The weather was spot-on as well. I'm all for another October weekend.

Twice a year is ridiculous, I know. However, it's a cure for PND!

Back for almost a week now and all it's been is work stress, family stress... Stress, stress and more stress

I wish I never left wakefield. I need to go back!

Can a strong case of PND be terminal? I might have to send taka part of my heart to diagnose!

Oh well... Better get back to life again.

Cheers

Good point.

And let's face it, we don't want to be seen to be encouraging reckless driving do we...

Seriously, I think it can only happen once a year. Otherwise we'll need to pay Timbo a full-time wage.

A booking of two days that coincides with a long weekend would be perfect.

I don't care when it is but would prefer to avoid the depths of winter. The weather we experienced was misleading if the tales are true.
