Kall, with respect, I think your comments are a little unfair...and reflect more than a bit of 'history' (which I won't go into) than fact: the .au forum has had two major software upgrades that I am aware of, and Choppy has spent weekends doing those. As explained, they are not sufficient to control the spam problem, which relies on the good efforts of moderators, of whom there are too few. Running the forum is not Choppy's day job, nor are the donations received and advertising revenue covering the software and hosting costs....so there's quite a burden on Choppy and Surrender Online.

In all of these online environments there's an aweful lot of work that happens behind the scenes which goes unrecognised. Obviously, where people are aware of this, they ought to bring it to more general attention from time to time, to enable acknowledgement.

IME, all 'clubs' real (and obviously also, virtual) run out of steam or run into 'personality conflicts'. It is a pity and a sad reality.

Personally, I blame Mazda. If they'd have kept up development of the 8, there would be a refresh of people, ideas and topics that would maintain forum interest and avoid the degenerative effects of boring, same old same old, and off topic issues....which really aren't of great interest to those who are genuinely passionate about the car and its technology.

Agree with 100%, even with the UK market where some stock performance upgrade introduced (PZ models) and get people to talk about it for decades. It is ironic that we are just talking colour changes here

Kall - I love your honesty. It dosen't hurt to let the world know the real truth from time to time.

I'm also what you consider to be a bit of a event 'guru' and over the years have seen my fair share of free loaders too. To put it frankly it does give you the *****.

History will show however that its always left to a small group of individuals who put in the bulk of their personal time and effort to make it work. Enthusiasm is the key which makes the difference between a successful club and a dud one.

To our small core group of committed individuals we salute you. Thankyou for helping us have one the best motor vehicle forums around and for Kall - hang in there princess - we need you!

Kall whatever is your problem you should really talk to me about it first.. you have my msn details all i know is that you disspeared off the chart and just stopped talking.

I dont wish to discuss this publicly as i have no idea what its all about number one, number two its obvious most people here or the OZRenesis group know something that I dont know that i have apparently said or done. Once again no need to be childish just contact me about it.

The server that runs the rx8club.com.au site costs over 120 dollars a month that comes out directly from my profits and server management and a tech to look after the box if something goes wrong and for updates costs a further amount of money.

As it has been said i spend alot of my own time making the site faster on the back end. and the registration process has changed dramaticly. The look has not changed as yet but i rather have everything working perfect before we work on the face.

As other have noticed www.rx8club.com.au is very much spam free for the last few days and that involved heaps of efforts from mods and myself in adding systems that will stop spam robots.

So im waiting for reasons why people at rx8club.com.au are idiots.. which i guess is plenty of people here too..

There's a lot of good people on all the RX8 forums (incl. the web).

Let's not get personal here. If you think the forum has an issue that needs addressing, let's play the ball and not the man.

Having spent time in all three forums, I just found I was spreading myself too thin time-wise and decided to stick to this one but I like and respect a lot of the people in Choppy's joint.

Hope you get the spam surplus and mod shortage sorted out.
