woh! 68K....i think ill stick to a Track 350Z. By the time the MazdaSpeed kit goes on, and some decent 19s, itd b pushing close to 80K. Way too expensive for a Mazda IMO.
But just like the Z, once the cars land, the initial pre-orders r filled, and the buzz dies down, the dealers will start discounting the cars they cant move.

pepe i believe demand for the Z has dropped after the first shipment. The cars r trickling in atm, due to the demand from US and Japan consuming nearly all supply, and also trickling out of the dealerships. Its a fantastic car, and well priced IMO, i just think its a weird time for the car market in Aus. Seems ppl r very badge conscious these days, and with the low interest rates, alot of ppl r buying European instead of the cheaper comparable Japanese alternative.
ypwpat i didnt mean to discourage u. Personally, i think the Aus demand for the RX8 will b alot higher than the Z is. Its alot more practical, affordable and isnt so much a niche car. I still believe the prices will drop, they always do, its just of matter of time and by how much. The Japanese r building some very exciting cars these days, the RX8 especially so. Buy it and enjoy it

Hi,
What are you driving at the moment? And how urgent is your need for a new car? If you want to hold off on the car, the prices will certainly go down. But in my experience, Mazda Australia is quite adept at keeping a tight supply chain. The Mazda6 has been on the market for a while and up to a couple of months ago most were selling at around retail prices without much discounting. A salesman told me that not flooding the dealers with a surplus of the Mazda6 allowed them to not discount much. They may do something similar to the RX-8.
So ultimately, it depends on you - do you want a new RX-8 now or do you want to wait?
I couldn't wait so I'm getting rid of my 1999 MX-5 for a blue one.

well it's not really urgent, where currently i'm driving the 2001 HSV VX Clubsport R8. But i was thinking to get it without trading in. But before getting it just wanna know how much or the cheapest price have you guys pre-ordered RX8 in Melbourne or Australia. If in Melbourne can you let me know which dealer that you Order it from?
Thanks
