work on approx $250 for 2 one hour appointments with a hygienist doing a clean and a dentist doing an exam. Decay is not the only problem people face these days. Saw a bloke today who had perfect hygiene but due to clenching of his teeth over the years has managed to crack 2 in half. If I had seen him earlier would have seen the warning signs saving him $1100.

That's money I have instead elected to spend on red wine, which I am told is famously good for your teeth :-)

yeah, but I imagine you are cheaper than a cardiologist.

red wine = bad teeth, good heart.

Even if not entirely true, I'm willing to put the theory to the test.

Speaking of which, there is a bottle of Turkey Flat shiraz calling my name ...

Luckily not really. One of the surgeon I know have ignored the cops, parked the car, and rushed to perform a surgery. The cop waited for him outside and gave him a ticket.

Being a Victorian cop I'm surprised he didn't shoot him. :D

Look at it from the cop's side. Lying to the police is a national sport. Why should he believe the surgeon/dentist/lawyer? For all he knows, the reason for the guy being late for an appointment could be he was on the phone to his stockbroker, or posting on the Porsche 911 forum.

Does being a health or legal professional entitle you to being cut some slack? Is this the new noblesse oblige? Take a step back - you got pinged, cop it sweet. (Retreats behind large bulletproof obstacle and waits for incoming fire).

Baiting the hook huh Labrat?? :D

Seriously, my difficulty with cops these days is they've been turned into mindless revenue collectors under the banner of 'road safety' . Remember when cops had that wonderful thing called 'discretion'. If they pulled you over for something dumb they had the option of giving you a warning or throwing the book at you depending on your explanantion and whether or not it was manifestly dangerous or just a technical breach. Now sure some motorists abused that but the contra was that at least there was the opportunity for some common sense to prevail and, shock horror, such interaction between driver and plod engendered some respect and good will. If it's now an 'us against them' game they've only got themselves to blame. The leather cap, mirrored sunnies, skin tight jodphurs and knee high boots don't help the image either just quietly! :D :D

As for doctors and lawyers getting a 'get out of jail free card' - do me a favour. I'll cop it sweet if I've done the wrong thing. And I bet overpaid sports stars and hot blondes get off far more often than some doctor hurrying to his other rooms or the hospital .

I'll spit it out now...

Yeah, I'd read about him. What a fool.

And I'm not embarrassed - just annoyed that I didn't know the camera was there. Since found out that I turned onto the main road from a side street just after the sign so had no chance of knowing (absent my 'mate' telling me! :D ).
