Best & worst additions to your car?
I thought I would kick off a new thread about the best and worst things that you have added to your cars.
These are mine:
BEST
=1st Racing Beat Sway Bars. This is how the car should have been in the first place
Hymee Cat back exhaust. Adds a much more appropriate sound to the car.
WORST
Aluminium fuel tank cover. Bloody expensive & I do not even like the look of it any more.

my best
illuminated gear ****
racing beat sway bars
rear rotary crest
front rotary crest
aluminium fuel lid i think it only looks good on the black cars
thinking of the hymee exhaust not sure yet arm has not been twisted far enough
side strakes
worst
tinted windows
would now like to get the 20% uv tinted windows
and my sports kit
would like to get a new one
for the mean time what i have will suffice as a kit looks better than a none kit

I just wrapped it and put it in it's box. You might even get lucky and find a 2nd sticker in the carton. I just hope I send you the right one - I'm sending 2 tomorrow, both Aluminised, one Short Taper, one Long Taper.
Mental note to self: Go "hurry up and post it Hymee" mez wants the short taper.
BTW - I love the strakes. If I charged what I really should for the exhausts I might be able to get some one day!
Hey Kimba - what don't you like about tint? I always get my cars a T35 tint. It makes a difference to that sun coming in. And it improves the looks IMHO.
Cheers,
Hymee.
PS - I was talking to the guys down at the local exhaust shop today. They had heaps of stories of guys walking in with $1600 systems they have bought "ready to fit" that don't fit properly etc. etc. etc.

Greetings All,
We haven't really added much to our car - love it in original spec - but we did get it Ming protected....
So our BEST addition was the EXTERNAL Ming Protection - water, dust - it all seems to just glide off the surface and it always looks great.
But the WORST addition has got to be getting the INTERIOR Ming Protection - DISASTER. Had to be re-done on the leather on the front seats as it went cloudy too, and we are having a long running battle getting the front door interior black panels to look good - they too went cloudy and have been done again - TWICE.
They still look like crap so we are getting both the front door internal panels replaced at no cost to us. We WON'T be getting them Ming protected again though... the dealer as good as admitted the product wasn't really suited to that particular trim - they are also having problems with the new Mazda 3 when Minged apparently.
Regards
Jeffneil

addons so far :
-fender strakes (a must, although costs a bit..),
-sideskirts (looks so much better),
-mats (thinking of getting overlay),

-rear centre "RX-8" brakelight mod.
want to get
-hymee grills (looks too hard a mod for me atm..)
-hymee exhaust (if I can afford it =)
-fuel cap (maybe from US)
-trunk nets (seems cheap in US)
-red front armrest lid (matches the red/black interior better)
-swaybar + whole lot of performance mods I can't afford :D
mods coming soon
-red painted brake calipers
-silver painted rear end mesh
big weekend job ahead :D

I'll start in reverse order............
Worst: -
I don't have one yet Can't get any worse than that can it?
Best: -
I get to watch, listen and learn as all you guinea pigs iron all the faults out of Gen 1 of the RX-8
Hopefully, the damn thing will be cheaper when I buy as well.
My intended add-ons: -
Rotary Motifs - front & rear
Strakes - just add that necessary "touch"
Hymee Grill if Mazda haven't fitted their own by time of purchase
Tint
Floor Mats
Still considering rear wing
Hoping that there will be an integrated MP3 option for the Luxury pack and possibly DVD playback for rear seats (to be occupied by offspring aged 9 & 3).

Kiwimeat,
I dont think Mazda will be fitting there own grill kit as it will leave them responsible for a whole lot of other warranty issues. The same warranty issues that you risk with every mod to your car non standard.
The worse thing on my 8 is the interior protection also, it make it look more dirty than it should be and more cloudy, if it gets any worse i will be speaking with my Mazda dealer about it..
Best additions to the car would be the Strakes, Rotary Crest front back, Passanger Footrest, Exhaust Finisher and the scuff plates
Regards
Phillip
