Brisbane Driver / Race Training

Guys,

I was thinking of organising a driver training day. they go through all sort of stuff, and is a every good day to thrash around and learn the capabilities of you car in a safe environment.

We have 2 options: a half day course
a full day course.

I don't have exact prices yet as it depends on numbers.
But is it usually around $70-$80 for the half day and around $120 for the full day.

Further details are at
www.sideline.org.au

I have been before and you can use the day for many things. If you are confident then you can just got for it. For those that want to learn there are instructors.

Last time I went it was 4 hours of drifting, and tutorial on how to drift

But they set up motorkhanas and stuff so we can race for times against each other.

I know one of the instructors and he is a very good driver and has raced targa tasmania several times.

I can get a few other people I know to attend to get the numbers up. But prefer it be a RX8 day as muchas possible.

It is open for around 12 people many more and you dont get as much time on the circuit.

So give me your feedback and I will organise it.

What dates are you thinking?

I have just found out due to work commitments that I will not be able to go to the next Saturday afternoon sprints (gnashing of teeth, swear words etc etc)
This was going to be my next track time with the car so maybe if the dates are ok I could do this instead.

Well I haven't picked dates yet, as I wanted to see interest first.
Then once I know people are interested we can decide on a date.

But either the 5,6,19,20 of june are all good for me.

I have had an update.

We can't get in until after the 12th of July.
I am working on a fixed date.

The cost is $1,000 for a half day
and $2400 for a full day.

It is just then split up over the number of people we have, ie half day with ten people is $100 each.

So I am organising a half day at this stage unless everyone is prepared to do it for a whole day.

I will post when I get a firm date, but it looks like late july is the go.

taka those prices are about right. At Mallala on a prcatice day it would cost you $65 for the day. However there are three sessions per hour of 20 minute durations each divided into cars karts and bikes. And there are often plenty of cars.

I'd happily pay up to $300 for a day with an instructor.

I'm happy to pencil in $100 for a 1/2 day (although it will go too quickly!)

Dragtoys, is a weekend day available?

Cheers,
Hymee.

Yes it will be on the weekend.

I think it is only saturdays.
I can make it a night if you guys are interested and it makes it easier with work commitments.
They have a session that starts at 4 pm and runs till 9pm.
It works out you have over 1 hour on the track with 10 people as they have 2 at a time on the track.

10 I think is ideal it is a little more but you get more time on the track. so that would be $100 each.

That is a saturday night just to clairfy. as the guys that run it work during the week.

The instructors are rally drivers and regularly compete in targa tasmania and other rally and race events.

Just so you know it isn't racing, but driver training. ie they show you how to control the car etc, ie power slides and drifting. It does teach you the limits of the car, so when you are racing you know what is going on.

They set up a motorkhana that is timed at the end or we can set it up earlier if everyone wants. Basically we just let them know what we would like to do.

The instructors don't have to be in the car if you don't want them to be, but are there if you want them to show you etc. So for those that want instruction they can, those that want to tear up the track you can

OK lets try this for a date and I will confirm it with the guy.

14th of August
Saturday night starting at 4pm and goes till 9pm.

Let me know.
Cause once confirmed I have to pay for it and fill it. So I want firm commitments only.

Regards
Shane.
