We did the Mt Nebo / Sommerset / Loop. But we don't normally publish the route details on this public site We not attention seekers.

I was waiting for someone to step up to the plate and offer to plan the route... Sco??

If not I will.

Cheers,
Hymee.

How about a barbecue in a park with good facilities.

It would be good to have the cars in a nice big carpark close to the park and barbecue area so we can have a look at the different modifications as well a a close look at the various colors.

Does anyone know of such a park?

Hymee, what do you think of the park backing on to Castle Hill Estate in Murrumba Downes.

skc,

I think that park is nice. But I also think it is a walk rather than a cruise for me. BTW, WTF is the Castle Hill estate??

I am thinking at the moment a Mount Tamborine region sort of run with a BBQ/Picnic lunch somewhere. I have a route in mind that is a very nice drive.

Whats say we meet at Harries at 9:30 for a 10:00 start? And we rendevous at BP Yatala (?? The big one south of the distillery) 10:30 for any "south coast" persons to join in.

Don't forget that a UHF radio is very handy on a cruise. Sco and I both have a 2w 40ch Uniden. You can get a 1/2w one for around $80.

Cheers,
Hymee

It's late.....I was on the Gold Coast when the 8 won car of the year, and I took the kids up to an Irish place at the end of a very curvy, sometimes single lane, 40K long trek up into the mountains....O'learys,Sullivans...something like that....lots of parrots to feed, the Stinson crashed nearby...the kids would remember.....anyway, that would make a good trip for you guys...

L&L would know the place...he's been everywhere!!!

Gomez.

I remember the coast downhill on the way back with the fuel light on in the hire Fowlcan...rolled for 21k's in neutral....made it out of there...just.!!

Guys i did not wish to try and be pushy but there are a lot of great drives here on the Goldcoast .

Mt Tamborine, Green mountain which has O'Reillys , Springbrook, the Numinbah Valley, Binna Burra or we could go into parts of northern N.S.W.

Currumbin Rock Pools??? This and Numinbah Valley can lead into NSW if you wish.

Cruising to broadbeach or mainbeach amongst the cappuccino yuppies would be a niceway to end the drive day , stop and shmooze

cheers
michael

Looks like we have a plan guys. There are some nice drives in the Gold Coast hinterland region.

I am sure between local expert L&L and Hymee we should have a route mapped out within the next day or so.

BTW, Hymee isnt the Castle Hill Estate the one that backs on to Pine river next to River wood.

Anyway, I like your plan better.

You can also get 2 radios for $100 from Dick Smith

Edit: I hate links from search engines that you can't c&p. Go to www.dse.com.au and do a search for D1773

Wildcard's mate bought a 2-pack of those cheaper ones, and wasn't really happy with them. PM him for more info.

Sco and I each have a 2watt radio, but generally I only use the 0.5W setting. 2W is good over longer distances, such a from the first car to the last car in a long convoy in the hills.

Cheers,
Hymee

I do not seem to be lucky with these outings. The other half (Mrs Smooth) is doing a Triathlon on the Gold Coast that day so I am out.

Sigh..................

Maybe next time.

Have fun guys
