After this pathetic display, you lot are banned from calling me a post *****.
And Taka, I think your 3,000+ breathing space isn't gonna be challenged anytime soon.

Anyone got a good recipe to swap??
BTW I tracked the 8 against a 350z....left if for dead and after 3 laps the zed was spitting out oil like a chimney.... He came in with no brakes and no oil and I came in with a big grin and a I told you so!!!
Now I am off to collect my wedding present from the WD.....have a look at this..

And we're even on topic in the ***** thread.

I reckon that if you wasted a 350z then the person driving didnt have a clue. I rode shotgun in one last time we were at winton and it ran a 1:44 with me in it and a best on the day of ... 1:40.08 and the best time in an 8 was Taka with a 1:43. There is no reason a 350z shouldnt be able to keep up with an 8.

auzoom ... in topgear, stig got exactly the same time in the M3, RX8 and 350Z ... yet all three handle differently. Like, the RX8 looked pretty sloppy really ... whereas earlier the BMW looked quite controlled.
I'd say if Taka pulled 1.43, it would most likely be because of different drivers and the level of familiarity with the car and track more than anything (that said, were both cars stock? you can't really compare modded cars) ... either that or maybe the 350Z is jst better suited to winton?

I would say thats a pretty accurate assesment. I wasn't trying to say that the 350z was better than the 8, just that people should be aware that the 350z is every bit as fun as the 8. But as you said, just in different ways.
You're also correct to say that the lump of blood 'n bone behind the wheel usually has more to do with lap times than the car, especially on a tight track.
However, I thought mine was a fair comparison. Both cars were pretty stock, both drivers were in their 30's (so had some decent driving experience) but it was our first track day. Mebbe it just says that the 8 is easier for a track beginner to get quick in when compared to the Z??
(...and I'm STILL on topic in the whoring thread ...call me a post ***** will they, mutter, mutter, mutter).
