Celebrate the 8th day? 8th Aug 2008 (8.8.08)
I believe that it will be Wednesday and it is only a year away.
I have a wild dream to have some gathering done.
I think I read somewhere that Japanese will be doing something big, just as what happen on 7.7.07 (well that was a Saturday)...
Just wonder if anyone has burning desire to do something big.

over a week ago should be celebrated as well, as it was 20th July 2007 (20-07-2007)
As it is on a weekday, I will have to see closer to the actual date if I can take a leave for whatever we are planning to do. Aug-Sept are the busiest months at work for me unfortunately

As a chemist, I shall celebrate Mole Day, in commemeration of the Avagadro Constant (6.02*10^23 mol^-1). In North America, this is celebrated between 6:02am and 6:02pm on the 23rd of October, but in our calendar you can also do it on the 6th of February between 10 and 23h. I'll probably do both. Any excuse to imbibe some C2H5OH, in moderation of course.

Moi, wierd? Well, yes, but Mole Day really and truly is celebrated, especially among chemistry students across the USA. And why should any other date have any significance, particularly when you consider that the make up of calendars has been a pretty confused thing over the centuries.

What is certainly in life?
Tax, Death, and your wife complaining what you just said and did.
Come on people. Flow the idea through... how big and where and what do we do?
Old idea: Track day, national, Wakefield... on a Friday.
Any new ideas?

I'm afraid Labrat even though a fellow chemist I still support Taka's assessment. That's wierd!!! LOL
The Nats sounds much more interesting!!
You need to get to the track more often. The tracking bug is stronger than any ionic, covalent bond or Van der Wal forces that possess you!!
Even a mole has fun at times!!! Put down your quantum theory for a while & chill out!! See you at an RX8808 function next year!

What is 8808????
Thanks Taka for bring up the 8th August 2008. It's a very important date.
I guess the most important signifigance is that it's the opening date of the Beijing Olympics and while I'll no doubt be enjoying a feast of sport, Im a little saddended that Motor Sport has still not found it's place in the Olympic arena.
However, lets not forget that this date - 8808 has other interesting notes of reference:
1. 8808 - the number given to the Lenovo Think centre computer
2. 8808 - the last 4 digits of Chuck Levins, "everything in music", store phone no.
3. 8808 - the reference number (NI) with Nimbus Records for Johann Sebastian Bach
4. 8808 - the last 4 digits of the phone number for the Arbour Lake Dental Care centre, Alberta, Canada,
5. 8808 - The patent number of a machine for shapening horse shoes
6. 8808 - the street number for Walmart Supercentre at beach road, Jacksonville
7. 8808 - A Xerox copier model
8. 8808 - the last 4 digits of the reference no. for the Alexander Schmorell
" Gestapo Interrogation Transcripts" available for US$18 and highly recommended for scholars pursuing the matter of german resistance.
9. 8808 - the volume number that on line 22 of page 40, references the arrival of Nelly Kahan, a 25 year old female, to America in 1926.
10. 8ON8808 - the number of RX8's that could be gathered together on the 8th of August 2008.

Absolutely not! lol
After the '06 surplus fiasco I promised myself not to put my head above the parapet again with Nats organisation.
If someone builds it, I will come...but I'm not picking up any bricks! They get thrown back at you, lol.
