Maybe may be not. Not a bad idea to ask them to check it next time you are in.
The oil is in the chamber to lubricate the apex seal.
It is natural for ash build up on the plugs.
Only piston engine will be a worry since they should have no plug on the chamber.
Japanese Fan Mag recommend changing the plugs every 10000km.
I am not telling you to change it. Take it out and clean it or change it if you see what I saw in my link. It did work for me... hesitation did not come back and it is nearly 2000km/ 3 months after cleaning and still nothing.

Well you COULD've got a 350z. We all knew we'd have less torque and drink petrol like water when we bought the RX-8, so why didn't we I'm sure everyone knows the answer whether they can explain it or not.

It is not because the RX-8 or rotary is troublesome. ....
It is just because you are in this forum and being fed with all the knowledge about the car. If you do not turn up here I am sure you would be happily driving the car without knowing or even noticing such a problem. I am sure if you have gotten the S2000 or 350Z fairlady ... it would be the same.

Oh absolutely, great point, tak. There's just something about the car that ensues enthusiasm regardless of any negative aspects. Moreso than a lot of other cars perhaps.

Hey guys,
With this engine mount fault that you've been discussing, if I have a car built in October 05 (MY06 model), do you think the engine mount problem still exists? What sort of problems does it cause, cos as yet I haven't noticed anything wrong that I can pick at, but don't want it to bite me in the *** later when it's too late.

My RX-8... It has never let me down. Got flooded once, but started under it's own power. The only time I was let down, was when the fuel I put in it from the servo had water in it!

That TG ep from '04 where Clarkson races the other guys to Switzerland in the Ferrari 612 was on again last week.
Remember the God awful rattle he had? Must say, it would have put a dent in people's expectations of a car worth several hundred K. Bet Ferrari's PR people hated it.

Quick Update -
All hesitations were fixed by replacing the Spark Plugs (a clean would probably have been sufficient)
New spark plugs did NOT fix the strong petrol/exhaust smell while idling and after shutting down (no CEL).
Engine mounts are STILL on order. They are literally probably coming from Japan. Not sure if this will also effect others wanting new mounts in Australia.
Otherwise seems to be running smoothly.
Cheers
