Coolant Light

Coolant Light
Hi Folks,
After a recent track day, I noticed that the coolant light would come on intermittantly on high rev. Checked the coolant levels and it was topped up and wasn't leaking. When the car was idling or during normal driving, it wasn't lit.
Should I be worried?
Regards,
R

wrong answer - I have the same problem. It is a faulty sensor in the coolant bottle and you need to replace the whole thing to fix it - $250+ (unless still under warranty) from mazda ... cheers

Not saying what you have said isnt also possible (I have also had that issue) but after having the problem 4 of the last 5 track days, I suspect this to be most occurrences of this problem after tracking.

Hey auzoom,
Did your coolant light also start playing up after a couple of track days? I figured there was a block in the cooling system since the tank was full yet would light up, could also be electrical since it started acting up after a day at Wakefield spent in the rain and in and out of the gravel.
Cheers,

Yes, happened after a few track days.
Another problem I found was I would come off the track and my overflow bottle was empty. This meant the coolant system was sucking air into the system. Was getting into a viscous circle but it started when I ran my coolant to low on the track the first time and never bleed the air out.
Took me a while to figure it out but once I did I just bleed the system and all was OK.

lol confidence answer..
possible faulty sensor or like andrew said air in system, but i would definitely try the cheaper way first then fork out 250 bux for a new tank ~
