cracked my sunvisor =(

dont know how i did it but i flipped the passenger sunvisor down in my car and it cracked along the edge. it wont stay up anymore =(

and on top of that, after parking it in the sun yesterday for probably around 4 hours, i found that the plastic hook that the visor clicks into is starting to melt

anyone else had this sort of problem?

photos later.. maybe tmrw..

Apparently its a common problem. Are you still under warranty? Some people have had luck with the visors getting replaced at the dealer under warranty. XLR83N has the same problem but i think its his drivers side (hes out of warranty)

Ive had a rear 3rd brakelight fixed for free because it developed a mysterious crack. Maybe from closing the boot too hard?

yeh i have the same problem, passenger side (i dont have passengers anymore :P)
because i am out of warrenty i had to buy a new one ($120 trade/$150 rrp). Very expensive for what it is :@ Oh, it does come with a 1 year warrenty though, so i will have to make sure that i break it again before it runs out haha
As for your plastic clip thing, that sounds weird, will be interesting to see the pics.

Don't know if it's similar in Australia, but in the states, there is a TSB and it's covered under warranty. Had mind down already.

It's a stupid design, and they should've used better quality plastic.

Mine did this a while back and it was still under warranty. Basically what looks like happened is that the arm on the left of the sunvisor gets torqued or something and cannot rotate anymore, snapping the plastic in two when you try to lower it. I could barely rotate the arm with pliers before I took it in.

There is a TSB on it........if you take it in they will fix it for free.
Even if you are out of warranty and are nice aboout it, they will probably replace it for free as well.
It has happened to a lot of us and there are numerous threads on this!

Darn straight ... use gaffer tape though, the mesh in it would hold the crack together a bit better!

Nothing like a car that's taped together

As long as it don't break, you'll make more money than Forrest Gump!

Hmm, didn't know this was a common problem. Never had hassles with mine.

Mind you, sunnies take care of the glare for me and it's not like I have to check my hair and makeup too often, lol...

Yeah, my Oakley's do just fine, but I do use both everyday to hold the sunshade up to keep the sun off the interior when I'm at work.

BTW..........I believe the did redesign it a little. I have new ones and no trouble since.
