Quick review - will post more when I have time.

We had:
Hymee
Yours truly & Mrs Sco
Haddock and Mrs Haddock
wallerc and Mrs wallerc
et381
skc and family
Lock and Load
rx8 - smooth popped in to say G'day at Stapylton

3 blacks, 2 reds and 2 yellows.

And the other cars
et381's mate in a 200sx
Lytning
Guv
Another LS1 (sorry didn't get your handle)

Met at Harry's then headed down the M1 to Stapylton. We went through Mt Tambourine, down the other side through the one way stretch to Canungra for lunch. After lunch we went for a photo shoot on some soft wet grass just outside Canungra - and I got bogged twice from going too slow trying not to hit little skc's. Pleased I didn't wash mine before the drive.

L&L, Haddock and SKC headed home and the rest of us went on towards Rathdowney until one of the LS1's did its power steering - one of the hoses developed a split. Some nice twisty bits there. We then turned back. Not sure what the others did - there was some talk of continuing towards the border and back.

I certainly had a good time.

Other interesting tidbits
- Hymee was showing of his exhausts. I got the privilege of hearing it through the ICB tunnel - sounded awesome. Also Hymee was running his Rick Shaw piggyback.
- Got a wave from a Titanium owner who pulled in at Harry's diner... must work near there.
- Everyone had radios - made life so much easier
Edit: - I was very impressed by the pickup in wallerc's auto - the extra torque shows.

Good to see you all... look forward to the next time.

Guys

Made a decision to go home after lunch and photo shoot at canungra .

I wasnt feeling great even before the drive as i am on penicillin for an infected throat .

It was great to see the line up of RX8 , EVEN THOUGH WE DIDNT MANAGE TO GET A SILVER , TITANIUM , OR A BLUE OR GREEN RX8 .

The photo and videos i took were accidentally wiped of the memory card by my eldest son , so i hope others can post some pictures.

E ven though i did not get a chance to complete the run it was enjoyable to be there .

cheers

At least i know that my video camera works / my son in his wisdom wiped off some of the others shots on the memory card and consequently wiped off Everything .

In his defence this camera is totally new and he has never used this program before . oh well .

You might be able to try and retrieve them using an undelete utility, provided nothing else has been written onto the memory card since they were deleted.

Thanks Hymee for organising a great day. Great meeting all attendees. L&L sorry you were crook as you would have enlivened the afternoon even further.
As a matter of interest, my fuel consumption for the cruise was 15.6 l/100k or 18 mpg in the old money. Must have been using 2nd gear too much.
Cheers

It was a great day. Thanks to Hymee for organising and everyone that turned up.

Me and my mate in the 200sx went on after one of the LS1 had power steering problem. Since our brains weren't working, we got lost, (why don't we have GPS with our 8s) Had to turn back and drove past Nimbim.

Appologies from my mate who might have took off too quickly and got some dirt on the LS1 guys while they were checking the power steering hose.

Nice pic wallerc.... stitching worked well. Will try a hi-resolution one once I get my film developed.

If anyone posts pics, I'd prefer my number plate is obscured... please. Sorry, should have said this earlier. Will obscure plates on any pics I post.

Thanks for fixing the pic Hymee. And thanks for organising.

ET, No problem about the take off. We were hamming it up a bit.

I was going to open a new "REVIEW" thread, but this looks like it is kicking along well, so I will leave it as is.

wallerc, I fixed up your original. I re-hosted the file you sent me and put some captions on after smudging the plates. Also a bigger size. If you don't mind, we might delete the smaller pic??

I feel a little bad about the cruise. I thought we were going to have plenty of time to talk etc. If there was one thing I would change it would be that. Somehow most of us decided to go on an extended drive, the drive is always appealing to me.

In hindsite, I might have been happier to go on a nice drive back to Nerang or such, and relax and chat for an hour or so.

L&L - Sorry to hear you were not feeling to hot. I was looking forward to letting you have a drive of my car so you could experience the exhaust and mild tune first hand. I didn't know that you opted out until 3/4 way to Beaudesert. No worries - perhaps on April Fool's day the week after next.

Great meeting Mr. & Mrs wallerc. Also great to see ET's new black 8, and meet Smoothy at Stapylton. And also the Tony breifly at Harries.

Thanks to Guv, LYTNING and Schwarzy for giving us some big cubes to chase. I had a bawl. Also great to see Dave with his 180SX as well. He was having a great time as well.

Nice to meet the skc clan. Sorry we didn't really get much of a chance to chat properly. We will learn, and try to make things better next time.

Great to see Mr and Mrs Haddock again as well.

Cheers,
Hymee.

No worries Chris. I re-hosted for you as when I fixed your first link it was to a password protected site. It also gave me the chanch to use the higher-res image, and do the captioning and smudging.

Thanks for supplying the photo. Nice stitching!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Just to recap the incident with Schwarzy's VY ute...

He split a return hose on his power steering, and pumped it dry. I copped the smoke as it happened, and though he had a big lock up.

The cruise sort of degenerated a little then. I chose to hang around until all was well, and headed home from there.

Guv & T went back to (??) and got some DextronII PS fluid, and to look for some hose. Fluid yes, hose no. So how did it get repaired??

Guv had some electrical tape and some cable ties. While he and T went back, Schwarzy wrapped the split in the hose with 3 layers of tape, and 4 cable ties side by side. Well done!

Meanwhile, the wallercs and the scos decide to head home, and ET and Dave bravely headed onwards towards NSW, and the home of the evil weed

LYTNING and Rowie had a very comfortable drive home. They took my '8, and left a little before us. We (Guv & T, Schwarzy and me) caught up with them in Beaudesert. We swapped cars back again at Browns Plains.

Cheers,
Hymee.

It was great to meet you guys at the BP.

The only ting I could think of as I continued down the Freeway and you guys went off into the hills was (to quote Monty Python)
"You lucky lucky lucky barstards.......!"

It sounds like you had a fun day & I look forward to catching up next time.

Steve,
How did "she who must be obeyed" enjoy the triathalon? Must be much harder work than pushing pedals.

Chris,

It was great to see "Mrs Smooth" had finished her first ever full Triathlon. She was very proud & I agree much harder work than sitting in a motor car!

What a rush!!!

I had a fantastic day guys.

Hymee, thanks for organising a great day cant wait for the next one.

It was good to catch up with all the club members in SE Qld.

I thought that the car handled the twisty bits around Mt Tambourine fantastically. It must have been an awsome sight for all the on lookers as we drove past with 7 RX8's in a row.

We had to depart after the photo shoot as the kids were a bit restless by then.

I look forward to seeing more photos.

Top stuff. Great to see everybody, nice to know the weather reports are totally off and brilliant revving all day long.

The radio was a top idea, highly amusing commentary from Hymee and our Holden driving buddies all the way Hope next time we get to see what those monster LS1 guys can do! Didn't get to see them much whilst trying to follow Hymee.

Big cheers to all for a friendly and fun day out, would love to meet up again and hopefully will at the sprints this Saturday.

Don't anyone say "small world".

I've just come home from town where I dropped in to the post office to see if my Hymee exhaust had arrived. Goodness me there was a yellow 8 parked across the road. .. with a Hymee grille fitted no less. As I was writing a note for their windscreen to welcome them to the Bucket's Way and confirm that they were forum members, the wallerc's walked out of the cafe!

They certainly enjoyed the outing, the Hymee exhaust, and the polish on Hymee's car (Swissol if memory from months ago can be trusted).

Now I can's hardly wait for Wakefield and meeting Hymee and L&L north of Newcastle to drive thru Sydney together.

And they are a really nice couple as well! The auto went very well just quitely. (Don't want L&L to hear that - he might think I am converting to the dark side...)

Cheers,
Hymee.

there is no dark side - where were you when Pink Floyd told you? And Kerry Packer confirmed. I'm just waiting for Renee Rivkin to make it official.

Jax,

But was the exhaust at the PO?? I assume not, since you aren't DD:D everywhere.

PS - I sent it C/- that "Vet" address.

Cheers,
Hymee.
