Dirt Cheap Poverty Pack.

Todays Melbourne Age has a brand new Pov Pack for sale for 10 shekels...., well very cheap anyway.

RX-8 BRAND NEW
Save $1000's. Travelled only 80kms.
Velocity Red/Charcoal intr.
6spd man, non leather model.
TFC738 $47000. 0403 013688

Gone by now I'd say. Probably fell out of love with the crappy colour.

Love,
Gomez .

Your so called Pov pack is really the Sports pack, Built for speed not comfort, less weight without the leather, just ask Hymee.

Velocity Red, the true RX8 colour.

Built for speed AND comfort, I would say. Leather isn't comfortable, it's fashionable.

I did notice that the partenered website for the Age classifieds (Drive.com.au) has ten used RX-8's for sale ATM. Five are Black (Doh, go figure...!), two Red, two Silver, and one Titanium. Notice there are no Winning Blue ones .

Yes Lock, no Yellow ones either.....Here's a link to the website.

Brigton Mazda had 3 Demo cars which are all black.

At least they are asking higher prices for the black than the red one!

I like the red/black leather, xenon, boss system, fog light and foot padel

In the last week i spoke to two RX8 owners who are selling their rides because they keep on flooding them , i tried to explain the quirky nature of rotaries to no avail , Mazda is loosing quite a few owners to other brands because of this issue and the petrol costs

The lady that i spoke to said for her it was a safety issue as she was scared her car may flood when she was on her own one night .

cheers

Weird, this one says 6sp manual but when you look at the picture of the dash......

Must be why the owners sold it :D

That is not good news. I didn't think we had flooding issues here.

There are no issues amongst the rotary savvy forum members and other keen rotary drivers , however we only make up a small percentage of the RX8 market , the average housewife and their hubbies are the ones having the issues as most of them never get the car past 5000rpm , and drive relatively short distances in heavy traffic .

Similar story with the honda S2000 a lot of people realised that they had bought the wrong car for their intended driving style and use .

Mazda once again playing catch up , the lady i spoke at first had no idea that she had a rotary engine she bought the car on its looks and seating capacity and good fuel compsumption being a 1.3 ltr

Theres no doubt clever marketing and making the RX8 Automatic created extra sales for Mazda but at what long term expense to the rotary .

cheers

Red and Silver are just as popular colours too i guess.

Actually, the dealer principal at Slaven Mazda recited them to me a while ago. Green was the loewest, followed by yellow. I think black and titanium were top and red and blue in the middle

That would see less and less housewife driving the RX-8 - better - it is a real man's car

I've not heard of anyone in Aus having their rotary flood...... Mind you, besides my PCM, i've not had an issue with flooding and I drive mostly along that stupid thing called a freeway, Monash Freeway into work everyday. Although, when the lane opens up, I wind it out to about 7-8k rpm... Hahaha. I love melbourne....

Yeah??

Buy a 20B powered JC Cosmo & the word "flooded" becomes very common in your vocabulary. Start, stop within a few kms, low revs, high traffic, start, stop low revs.............

Should flood within 10-14 days of driving like that.

My bad... I meant to say RX8.... not just RX rotary in general. I take anyones word for it if they've had issues, but I'm speaking from my experience.

The new kid to Rotary I should call myself! :P

how are these people managing to flood their cars?
I have had the car 'hard to start' but it has never failed. sometimes the started motor just seems to be spinning the motor with no firing. all I have to do is stop winding it over and the car comes to life. I have done short start-stops for washing, but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

are these owners just winding the car over and over for minutes at a time or do they flog the car until they stop it so the car has dumped heaps of fuel inside or how dose it happen?

Saw a Black 8 being loaded onto a tow truck on Penhurst St Chatswood this afternoon about 4.00pm. I didn't stop to enquire as it was chockers there but the owner definitely did not look happy. Wonder what happened?
