Drag racing
Hi
I've often wondered what it would be like to go drag racing, but have been more than a little worried about having a accident on the track (& no insurance).
Anyway a good mate just sent me this link
http://site.dragtag.com.au/
Anyone interested?

AFAIK, drag racing is very safe if done on a legal drag race place. I've done a few, it's just straight line, no turning whatsoever (except at the end of the line, but you would have slowed down of course - and getting back to the start line).
UPDATE: Ah sorry, should have seen your link first. that seems to be the *new* drag racing, drag racing on dyno! I know a few cases where the car jumps off the dyno machine, so it has its risk. I can't understand why you want to drag race on a dyno anyway... where's the fun of it????

Try and drop it at 4000RPM and see if it'll launch. I use 6000RPM with traction control off.

DragTag is great, they keep asking us at Evolvegirlz to go. Perhaps if we get enough Victorians interested I could arrange something with them ? Joint event with you boyz and the girlz (bet Andrew will love dat, hes in love wit 1 of the girls *rolls eyes*)
DragTag is safe, you are undercover and you can have spectators. Your car is safely bolted down. They can change the simulations aswell to different scenery. Looks heaps fun!
There was news coverage about it on tv while back as it becoming a hit nowadays, promoting it to avoid illegal drag racing on the roads.
Its a start for those who want to drag but are afraid to... I mean I goto calder park fair bit to watch but Im too chicken to take the car out there, the nerves would be shocking! so this could be the start and fun because you are with your group of friends and you KNOW its safe. Better yet its great opportunity to test out how the car reacts to different gear shifts and revs, so a learning experience aswell.
As for the car bolting off, we asked a billion questions about it and they assured us its safe.. I mean $hit happens anywhere if you think about it... You think the merry go round ride is safe but hey 1 of them horses can break off too.

Definitely looks interesting, but I'm with Taka here. Is this currently only limited to VIC or do they have a NSW venue as well? I'd be interested in having a peek
