Finance Director likes the idea, but thinks that we should fly down, hire a car and just be spectators... It is a very long drive and I doubt that we could keep up with Hymee and SCO... We like to stop every two hours, swap drivers and give Miss 5 a chance to stretch her legs..

It'll be historically known as the national RX8 day.

Now that is something worth driving 15 hours for ain't it....

Well, 3 hours for me. But thats besides the point!

C'mon - Do the drive. It is great fun, great company. Stopping every 2 or 3 hours is sensible anyway. And we have the radios to keep in contact as well. Get to see parts of the country (briefly) you don't normally get to see.

You already did the equivalent of 1/3 the trip last sunday! So 3 times the fun to go to Goulburn.

Anyway, my humble opinion. But for something like that, it is seems the right thing to do to take you car, and enjoy it.

We might even have to take the Prado as well if I have a boot full of Exhausts. Or perhaps a spare engine if the blower plays up. LOL!

Timbo, I might be able to become a sponsor, yeah? :D

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hey my superior of the family dislike the idea of the baby going up but realised that I am so happy with the idea of National RX-8... I am working on it. Look promising.

Where did 11-12 Nov come from Little John...

It will be easier for me to get off Friday before 22 Oct since I have an excuse to go away (put the baby to the boss).

But it will be easier to convince my wife it is the 11 Nov...

I am easy... and go for majority.

Can I just say, with no intention to offend anyone at all, that no matter what date is suggested, there will always be many who want alternatives. 22-23 October just happens to be dates when Wakefield is free. It is not free for a weekend prior to that, when I rang them. It may be free later, but we quickly run in to Melb Cup week and then Xmas (parties etc)

So, the first question in this thread is...who can and will come on that weekend?

It seems to me that if we can't quickly get to 20+, the idea is a lame duck.

Taka,

Nothing wrong with taking Little Miss Taka for a holiday for her 1st birthday. Get to see some more of her own country!

I'm quite excited about it. Timbo, I agree, we need about 20 RX-8's to make it look like something worth getting sponsorship and media attention etc. Are there many RX-8's over at Ausrotary? When we had that big Wakefield day in April last year, there were heaps of RE cars, and I recall Ausrotary was the common link.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Mrs. Taka has a little problem about little Miss Taka's food. She also said she will be bored to death there...

I may be going alone :p

Do you reckon I can fit 3 tyres in the cabin and 1 tyre in the boot?? :p

Is it the RX-8 only drive day?

..... ^=^" I am just thinking if someone will sacrify and drive a wagon up for us :p

I am hoping Danielle (Mrs. ILIV48) will go driving herself. :p

Hymee, thanks for the offer of sponsorship. It WILL be taken up if we get the critical mass.

I have posted the event on Ausrotary, but no response thus far. As any of you who have frequented that forum knows, it has a very different ...er ...demographic and culture. Nonetheless, I don't think we should be exclusive...it's good for 8 owners to see the development that has gone in to the rotary in other guises.

Taka, as for boredom for partners etc, that's probably going to be an issue mostly for the track event, so perhaps we can arrange some alternative activities. There's quite a lot to do around here....just depends on interests.

But first, let's get some commitment..
