extractor installation problem??

wanna know do we need to change the cat and bulit another pie to connet to the cat back system becoz the standard cat is coneted with a long pie they cannot pull out seperate!!

so my questions is :
1st how big is the standard pie which was conneted with the cat?
2nd do we need to change the cat to highflow and made another pie connet both the cat back system and the cat??

p.s
has any body run a honda DC5/DC2/CIVIC Type R or a 350Z(both standard )
or (both with mod) which one is faster.......
my experience ;(both modded).......i win on the start but they get me on the 3rd grar..all the way till the end of the run....
is it becoz i have a 255/35/18 rubber at the rear or is becoz their car is faster.?

You should be able to take the Hondas with the right driving skill. Even a light moded version you should have them few extra rpms to be able to take a win.

I have raced the DC5 and without much driving effort (no double clutching and or flat changing) i was ahead of him by a car length with him falling behind.

350 Z is a different story even with the perfect take of the 350 still had one extra kick up the bum to be ahead of me at the start the only time we went neck and neck with the 350 ( OR alittle ahead ) was in second gear 8000 rpm. 350 looks more responsive in the low end and middle end.

Anyway i hope you are racing on the track and not on the roads.

Regards
Phillip

Amuse,

I'm trying to offer some help, but I am a little confused on the question.

Which joint are you talking about? The one that is about 8 inches before the muffler?

Or the joint between the headers and the front of the mid-pipe?

Or the joint between the end of the mid-pipe and the intermediate pipe? (The long one before the muffler assembly?

I'll help if you can clarify (if I can).

Cheers,
Hymee.

AMUSE:
I never race with an 8 before, so I cannot tell you how much diff will that be.... but FYI, after just an exhaust mod, the zed is a totally different car, and if the zed changes to the high flow cats, that will be even better since standard zed runs 4 catalistic converters (two at each side, one right after the other to restrict the flow to pass the emission law)... so with the moded zed, you might experience a diff. story to a standard zed, and I am talking about quite a lot of differences as a guy in the zed forum constantly testing his exhaust moded zed with other cars (wrx, Holden new SS, HSV, Ford XR6 turbo, s2k... etc) and he has shown quite an interesting comparisons over there... you might want to take a look at the Australian Forum at my350z.com

cheers,

richie
