Following the trend - Suicide style
Have a recent addition the the DMRH driveway.
. HE gets the truck during the week
SHE gets the RX-8 during the week.
On weekends, we swap.........
Many a manufacturer following the RX-8 suicide door theme now. For reference, the Mazda trucks have had the suicide option for near 5 years now.
Notice door handle inside door frame & hidden to the rear passenger where the RX-8 is accessable (but not operable) to the rear passenger.
(Yes, little girls like to play Dolly in their Daddies cars)

I am no fan of 4WD twin cabs.
My wife has a Hilux twin cab.
I watched one turn and face me in a roundabout in the wet on Monday night.
I drove a BT50 diesel ute for a few days a couple of months ago. It had the second best hill climb top speed out of my street (showed 95kmh - yes it was legal.) until I worked out that the speedo was 15 kmh optimistic. Still a very good drive in that class.
Don't look at the Ancap pics on the BT50 though. They are ugly.

Speaking of hillclimbs, I've just moved back to my old neighbourhood and am enjoying the local hill climb road again. Nice to rattle their windows again...

Sorry mate. This is the BT-40. Mines an 06-model & I think the BT-50 started in either late 06 or early 07.
Both the BT-40 + BT-50 series have the Suicide door option.
A look across other manufacturers web sites find several more are following the RX-8 trend these days. I'll get some pics of those too.
